An encoding circuit sequentially encodes digital signals supplied in time series from a digital signal source and then transfers the encoded signals. A decoding circuit sequentially receives the encoded digital signals transferred from the encoding circuit and then decodes the signals. A digital-analog converter sequentially converts the digital signals decoded by the decoding circuit into analog signals. Thus, power consumed when the digital signal output from the digital circuitry is transferred to the analog circuitry is reduced.

In a content addressable memory, a plurality of non-volatile memory cells each are provided in conjunction with the associated one of a plurality of match lines, thresholds of the plurality of non-volatile memory cells are selectively altered on the basis of a teacher-signal, and in read out of data, selected is a match line associated with a non-volatile memory cell having a maximum weight, if the match signal appears on a plurality of match lines, the thresholds of the non-volatile memory cells being treated as the weights, thereby reading out data which has been stored in the word memory involved in the maximum weight.

Content addressable memory and method of use thereof

There is provided a configurable electronic circuit board which comprises a board including many modular sockets in a minimum unit each having a size and the number of pins both standardized, the modular sockets being arranged regularly parallely and connected to each other at terminals thereof through simple wirings, a pin adapter composed of adapter pins insertable into the modular socket, of an adapter socket into which electronic circuit parts are insertable, and of socket wirings for making connection between the adapter socket and the adapter pins, a switching station adapter composed of adapter pins insertable into the modular socket, and of a wiring changeover switch and a fuse for determining the connection of wiring among the adapter pins, and a bypass adapter being inserted into a modular socket not used, and composed of adapter pins insertable into the modular socket, and of fixed wiring for simply bypass-connecting among the adapter pins, whereby an arbitrary circuit is realizable by inserting each adapter or electronic circuit part into an arbitrary modular socket. The configurable electronic circuit board is used to realize and verify a designed circuit.
