A compliant transmission system includes a rotatable wave generator and a sleeve fitted on the wave generator. The rotatable wave generator has an external surface including pattern extending both annularly and in a longitudinal direction. The sleeve is configured to be deformable and to be impressed on its outer surface with waves extending along the longitudinal direction during rotation of the pattern of the wave generator within the sleeve.

Compliant transmission system

A system for converting an input oscillation having an input frequency into an output oscillation having an output frequency is disclosed. The system comprises: a controller configured for receiving the input oscillation and responsively generating a multi-component drive signal. A frequency of at least one component of the drive signal is other than two times the input frequency. In some embodiments, a frequency of another component of the drive signal equals about two times the output frequency. The system also comprises an oscillator for generating pump oscillations responsively to the drive signal and applying parametric excitation to the input oscillation at the pump oscillations.

Method and system for parametric amplification

A system for generating a mechanical wave is disclosed. The system comprises a camshaft having plurality of rotatable cams, serially mounted on a shaft along an axis of an elastic tubular shell to form a varying phase angle along the shaft. The system further comprises a plurality of cam followers arranged circumferentially about each cam, such that a rotary motion of the cams generates a linear motion of the cam followers to radially bias in internal wall the shell. The variation of the phase angle is selected to generate a three-dimensional traveling wave along the shell.

Method and system for generating mechanical waves

System and method for active detection of asymmetry in a rotating structure, the method comprises: imparting harmonic mechanical excitation on the rotating structure that is asynchronous to the speed of rotation of the structure; obtaining a response from the excited rotating body; and analyzing the response to determine a presence of modulation of the imparted harmonic mechanical excitation, that causes vibration at a frequency that is a combination of both the harmonic mechanical excitation and the modulation speed of rotation.

Geometric-waveform oscillator for processing light, the geometric waveform oscillator including a plurality of masses, at least one force producing element, and a plurality of elastic elements, each of the force producing elements being coupled with a respective one of the masses, at least one of the masses including a light processing module, each of the force producing elements applying a force to the masses, the elastic elements coupling the masses together, the elastic elements coupling the masses with a respective support, wherein the mass values of the masses, the force values of the forces, and the stiffness coefficients of the elastic elements, are selected such that the light processing module oscillates according to the geometric-waveform.
