Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for indication of one or more symbol structures for one or multiple subsets of a set of symbols. The one or more symbol structures may include one or more guard interval (GI)-based symbol formats that are to be applied to one or more of the subsets of symbols. Different symbol formats may be indicated for different subsets of symbols, and a first subset of symbols may use a GI-based symbol format and a second subset of symbols may use a CP-based or GI-based symbol format. A base station may transmit control signaling to a user equipment to indicate one or more symbol structures for the one or more subsets of symbols, and the UE and the base station may communicate data in one or more slots in accordance with the indicated symbol structures based on the control signaling.

Techniques for signaling symbol format for guard interval based waveforms

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit an uplink trigger (ULT) message that indicates a request for a network entity to transmit a system information message including timing information for the UE. In response to the ULT message, the UE may receive the system information message indicating a timing advance (TA) command applicable to the UE. In some examples, the system information message may indicate that the TA command is applicable to a group of UEs that include the UE and one or more additional UEs. In some other examples, the system information message may indicate the TA command and a set of one or more additional TA commands, each applicable to a respective additional UE. The UE may communicate with the network entity according to a timing based on the TA command received via the system information message.

Communicating timing information via system information

A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first random access message to a base station in a first bandwidth part (BWP), switch from the first BWP to a second BWP, and start a timer following a time gap after transmission of the first random access message in the first BWP, the timer associated with a window of time for receiving a second random access message from the base station in the second BWP. The window of time may be a random access response (RAR) window or a contention resolution window that may extend until the expiration of the timer. The switch from the first BWP to the second BWP may be based on a subcarrier spacing (SCS) change from a first SCS to a second SCS.

A user equipment (UE) may receive first control information indicative of a resource allocation for reception of periodic multi-slot multi-cast transmissions. In some aspects, the control information may indicate a semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) configuration for multi-cast, multi-slot signaling. The resource allocation may include a set of multiple reception occasions over a set of multiple slots. The UE may receive one or more transport blocks during the set of multiple reception occasions over the set of multiple slots. In some aspects, the UE may transmit feedback information for the one or more transport blocks.

Multi-cast multi-slot semi-persistent scheduling communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A transmitting device may determine a power amplifier operating mode associated with non-linear distortion of an input waveform for a power amplifier, where the power amplifier operating mode may be from a set of two or more power amplifier operating modes each associated with respective amounts of the non-linear distortion. The transmitting device may transmit a set of reference signals associated with estimation of a wireless channel for a transmission, and the transmitting device may further transmit an additional set of reference signals associated with non-linear distortion mitigation for the transmission. In some examples, a resource density of the additional set of reference signals may be based on the power amplifier operating mode. In some examples, the transmitting device may transmit an indication of the power amplifier operating mode, the resource density, or both, to a receiving device.
