Disclosed are a laminate film having at least three layers, the three layers being (A) an intermediate layer and (B) two outer layers, the intermediate layer (A) being composed of a resin composition comprising 20 to 100% by weight of an amorphous polyolefin containing at least 50% by weight of a propylene and/or butene-1 and 80 to 0% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene, and the two outer layers (B) being composed of a resin composition comprising a polyolefin and a thermoplastic styrene elastomer, and a laminate film having at least three layers, the three layers being (A) an intermediate layer and (B) two outer layers, the intermediate layer (A) being composed of a resin composition comprising 20 to 100% by weight of an amorphous polyolefin containing at least 50% by weight of a propylene and/or butene-1 and 80 to 0% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene, and the two outer layers (B) being composed of a resin composition comprising a propylene resin and a thermoplastic styrene elastomer.

Laminate film

A laminated film has layer(s) A and layer(s) B.sub.1, obtained by laminating at least one layer A and at least one layer B.sub.1. The layer A comprises a resin composition comprising (a) 20-100% by weight of an amorphous polyolefin containing at least one component, in an amount of at least 50% by weight in said amorphous polyolefin, selected from the group consisting of propylene and butene-1 and (b) 80-0% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene, (B) the layer B.sub.1 comprises a crystalline polypropylene. At least one of the two outermost layer is the layer B.sub.1. The laminated films can be used in various applications by themselves, but may be laminated with a polyester film, a nylon film, a stretched polypropylene film or the like to improve the mechanical strengths, gas-barrier property, printability, etc.

Laminated films

The present invention provides a resin composition including (a) 20-80% by weight of an amorphous polyolefin having a propylene and/or butene-1 component content of 50% by weight or more, and (b) 80-20% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene. This resin composition is well balanced in mechanical strength and flexibility and gives rise to no environmental pollution.

Resin composition

A laminated film has layer(s) A and layer(s) B.sub.1, obtained by laminating at least one layer A and at least one layer B.sub.1. The layer A comprises a resin composition comprising (a) 20-100% by weight of an amorphous polyolefin containing at least one component, in an amount of at least 50% by weight in said amorphous polyolefin, selected from the group consisting of propylene and butene-1 and (b) 80-0% by weight of a crystalline polypropylene, (B) the layer B.sub.l comprises a crystalline polypropylene. At least one of the two outermost layer is the layer B.sub.1. The laminated films can be used in various applications by themselves, but may be laminated with a polyester film, a nylon film, a stretched polypropylene film or the like to improve the mechanical strengths, gas-barrier property, printability, etc.

A heat-shrinkable cover sheet used for covering and protecting the peripheral surface of a joint of, for example, a steel pipe or cable is provided. The heat-shrinkable cover sheet has two branched tongue-like portions on each of both the ends in the direction of thermal shrinkage. A heating element formed of a heating electric conductor wire is included and built in the body portion of the cover sheet, the front tongue-like portion on one end of the cover sheet and the back tongue-like portion on the other end of the cover sheet, in a manner such that thermal shrinkage of the entire sheet is not prevented. The heating element included in at least one of the tongue-like portions having the heating element included and built therein is independent from the heating element of the body portion of the sheet, so that application of electricity to the independent heating element and stopping of application of electricity to the independent heating element can freely be carried out while electricity is applied to the heating element of the body portion.

Heat-shrinkable cover sheet

Provided hereinbelow is a process of extrusion-coating the central core, said core being used in a submarine coaxial cable, with an insulator of high pressure-processed polyethylene having a density of from 0.925 to 0.940 g/cm.sup.3 and a melt index of from 0.01 to 0.3 g/10 min with advantages in that said coaxial cable is allowed to be placed on a sea bottom of not less than 500 meters in depth and to effectively transmit alternating current signals with a maximum frequency of not less than 30 MHZ, while attenuation of said signals is reduced, and thus, said coaxial cable has a transmission capacity of not less than 3000 circuits or channels with a frequency band of from 3 to 6 KHz per each circuit or channels, wherein the insulator-covered-core is continuously extruded from an extruder and then is gradually cooled in cooling water troughs to room temperature so that the water content of said insulator, without formation of voids between said central core and said insulator, is reduced by as much as possible.
