A sound generating device for a jogger has a generator circuit for generating pace signals the frequencies of which are different from each other in correspondence with different tempos and for generating reference clock pulses, a time counter for receiving and counting the reference clock pulses, and circuits for selectively supplying pace signals the frequencies of which are different from each other and which are supplied from the generator circuit. In response to an instruction signal generated by a switching operation, the time counter starts counting. Simultaneously, based on a selected pace signal from the generator circuit, a desired pace sound can be produced.

Voice sounds can be recorded by recording sections in an electronic device having a timepiece function. The voice sounds indicate the purposes corresponding to alarm times so that the recorded contents may be reproduced upon operation of a particular switch.

Electronic device having timepiece function

An electronic timepiece, which comprises a circuit for encoding an externally supplied voice and a semiconductor memory for memorizing the encoded voice data. The voice data memorized in the semiconductor memory is read out when a preset time is reached, and the data thus read out is converted into a voice signal which is coupled to a sound producing device such as a loudspeaker for the reproduction of the voice.

Electronic timepiece

An electronic timepiece has a plurality of alarm time memory circuits in a semiconductor memory means for memorizing different alarm times and a memory for memorizing voice data of messages telling for example what has to be done at alarm times memorized in the respective alarm time circuits. The voice data memorized in the memory are obtained through conversion of externally coupled voice signals, and at the arrival of an alarm time the corresponding voice data is read out and coupled to a loudspeaker for reproducing the recorded message voice.
