A variable gain amplifier includes a voltage-to-current converter for converting the input voltage to a current, a current amplifier for amplifying the current converted by the voltage-to-current converter, a current-to-voltage converter for converting the current amplified by the current amplifier into a voltage, and a controller for controlling an amplification factor of the current amplifier.

Variable gain amplifier, mixer and quadrature modulator using the same

In differential amplifier circuitry formed on a semiconductor substrate, first and second transistors constitute a differential pair of the differential amplifier circuitry. First and second pads are connected with emitters of the first and second transistors, respectively. The first and second pads are connected with first and second external ground terminals via first and second rewiring layers to be grounded, respectively. The first and second rewiring layers are preferably connected with each other. Further, bases of the first and second transistors are connected with first and second bias circuits via first and second resistors, respectively.

Differential amplifier circuitry formed on semiconductor substrate with rewiring technique

In an amplitude detecting circuit, a phase shifter, into which an alternating current signal that is outputted from an AGC circuit is inputted, outputs first and second alternating current signals between which there is a phase difference. In addition, full wave rectifying is carried out in a first full wave rectifier on the first alternating current signal that is outputted from the phase shifter and in the same manner full wave rectifying is carried out in a second full wave rectifier on the second alternating current signal. Furthermore, in an averaging circuit, output signals of the first and second full wave rectifiers are averaged so as to generate an amplitude detection signal.

The body is attached to the cuff such that the body is located on the thumb side of the arm L when the sphygmomanometer is fitted on the wrist. Consequently, a precise blood pressure measurement and precise blood pressure fluctuation can be obtained without restriction on the location where the blood pressure measurement is conducted.
