A composite inductor includes a block made of resin or rubber having a magnetic material dispersed therein. Spirally wound coils are buried in the block so that the coil axes of the coils are arranged in the same direction. The end portions of the coils are electrically connected to external electrodes provided on two surfaces of the block substantially at a right angle to the axes of the coils.

Composite inductor element

An inductor is constructed to achieve efficient formation of external electrodes, and exhibits high reliability of connection between the external electrodes and an internal conductor, and desired characteristics. In the method of manufacturing the inductor, a magnetic material formed by kneading a magnetic material and a resin is molded to form a magnetic material compact body in which the internal conductor is partially exposed from the external surface thereof, and then the surface of the magnetic material compact body is plated to form the external electrodes including a plated metal film and connected to the internal conductor. The surface of the magnetic material compact body is roughened, and then the external electrodes are formed via plating.

Inductor and method of producing the same

A method for manufacturing an inductor is performed in such a manner that the surface of a metal wire provided with an insulating film thereon is coated with a thermal melting resin. The thickness of the thermal melting resin is, for example, approximately 1 &#x3bc;m. As the thermal melting resin, a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin, such as a polyimide resin or an epoxy resin, containing 85 wt % of a powdered ferrite is used. This coated metal wire is densely wound to form a solenoid-type coil conductor. Next, the thermal melting resin is softened by a heat treatment at, for example, 180&#xb0; C. and is then solidified by spontaneous cooling. Accordingly, the portions of the coil conductor adjacent to each other are bonded together by the thermal melting resin.

Method for manufacturing an inductor

A method of manufacturing an inductor includes the step of molding a magnetic material formed by kneading a magnetic material and a resin to form a magnetic material compact body in which the internal conductor is partially exposed from the external surface thereof. Then the surface of the magnetic material compact body is plated to form the external electrodes including a plated metal film and connected to the internal conductor. The surface of the magnetic material compact body is roughened, and then the external electrodes are formed via plating.

Method of manufacturing an inductor

A method for efficiently and economically manufacturing an inductor using a resin based magnetic material, and a highly reliable inductor that is manufactured by the method, produces a unique inductor including a molded magnetic material member. An inner conductor is disposed in the molded magnetic material member and is exposed at a surface of the molded magnetic material member. The molded magnetic material member is formed using the resin based magnetic material in which a component that functions as nuclei for applying electroless plating is blended, followed by forming a selectively coated molded body so that the area not provided with external electrodes on the surface of the molded magnetic material member is covered with an insulating resin and applying electroless plating on the molded magnetic material member (selectively coated molded body), thereby eliminating use of a resist agent that is required in the conventional manufacturing method, as well as a resist agent removing step with an alkali and solvent and a removing step of the electroless plating film with an acid, by forming the electroless plating film as the external electrodes on the desired area.

Inductor and manufacturing method thereof

A laminated-type varistor includes a laminated structure and a pair of external electrodes disposed on a surface of the laminated structure. The laminated structure includes effective sintered body layers and internal electrodes. The internal electrodes are connected to the external electrodes and are disposed apart from each other in the direction perpendicular to lamination surfaces. Each of the internal electrodes has a multilayer electrode structure in which a plurality of electrode layers are arranged in layers while an ineffective sintered body layer is disposed therebetween. The laminated-type varistor has increased maximum peak current and maximum energy and reduction in clamping voltage.

Laminated-type varistor

There is provided a choke coil having a sufficient noise eliminating effect against common mode and normal mode noises. The choke coil has two bobbins, a pair of windings wound around the respective bobbins, first and second magnetic cores which are each inserted in cylindrical body portions of the bobbins at one side thereof, and a support member for supporting the cores. The first magnetic core is in the form of the character B and made of a material having lower permeability. The second magnetic core is in the form of the character D and made of a material having higher permeability. A predetermined gap is maintained between the cores by a spacer provided on the top surface of the support member.

Choke coil for eliminating common mode noise and normal mode noise

A choke call includes a bobbin, a pair of windings wound around the bobbin, and two magnetic cores. The bobbin has a rectangular barrel in which a circular hole is defined. The two magnetic cores are partly inserted into the hole of the barrel. The hole is offset from the central axis of the barrel. A central collar extends perpendicular to and at the central portion of the barrel. Two end collars extend beyond and parallel to opposite ends of the barrel. The thickness of the central collar is approximately two times greater than that of the end collars. The magnetic cores collectively form an opening. Within the opening, the gap between the outer periphery of the central collar and the magnetic cores is greater than that between the outer periphery of the end collars and the magnetic cores. A part of the magnetic cores within the hole has a circular or rectangular cross-section.

Choke coil

A choke coil having a sufficient noise eliminating effect against common mode and normal mode noises. The choke coil has a bobbin, a pair of windings wound around the bobbin, and magnetic cores inserted in a rectilinear body portion of the bobbin. The bobbin is constituted by a main body and a cap each of which incorporates a magnetic core. The upper half of those magnetic cores forms a closed magnetic circuit that extends around one of the windings while the lower half forms a closed magnetic circuit that extends around the winding.

A connector having a housing with a cavity, a terminal fixed in the housing and a resistance board. The resistance board has an elastic insulating board and a number of conductors which are provided in the insulating board such that each conductor shows on an upper surface and a lower surface of the insulating board. The resistance board is inserted in the cavity of the housing so as to lie on an end portion of a flexible cable. A signal-transmitting conductor of the flexible cable is electrically connected with the terminal via the conductors of the resistance board.

Connector for a flexible cable

A modular jack to be mounted on a circuit board, the modular jack having contactors which will come into contact with a plug and terminals which will be connected with printed wires on the circuit board. The contactors and the terminals are stamped out of a hoop and fixed in a body case of the modular jack. An end of the contactors and an end of the terminals are arranged nearby, and filter elements for eliminating noise are disposed between the nearby ends.

Modular jack

A connector comprising a housing having a varistor-characteristic resin portion, and signal coupling terminal conductors which penetrate the varistor-characteristic resin portion. The housing itself is made of a varistor-characteristic resin material or the housing is fitted, at its side recess portion, with the varistor-characteristic resin material.

Connector

A modular jack incorporating a varistor. The varistor reduces noise and surge (abnormal voltage) entering the modular jack, and thereby an electronic appliance such as a telephone connected with the modular jack is not affected by the noise and surge. The varistor is electrically connected between at least a pair of contact leads. Alternatively the varistor is electrically connected between the pair of contact leads and a grounding terminal. Further, the modular jack incorporates a common mode choke coil so as to obtain a common mode noise reduction effect.

A filter connector comprising a housing made of insulating material, an earth plate fitted to the housing, which earth plate has an engaging portion to be engaged with a circuit board, and a signal transmitting pin fitted to the housing, which pin has a filter element electrically connected with the earth plate. The earth plate is connected directly with a ground conductor on the circuit board, and the engaging portion prevents the connector from separating from the circuit board.

Filter connector

Disclosed is a modular jack to be mounted on a circuit board, and the modular jack has a printed board containing a noise suppressing electronic element in a housing. The printed board is fitted with contactors for contacting with plugs and terminals to be used for mounting the modular jack on the circuit boad. The contactors and the terminals are electrically connected with the noise suppressing electronic element by wires on the printed board.
