Zeolite catalysts and systems and methods for preparing and using zeolite catalysts having the CHA crystal structure are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stable at high reaction temperatures. The zeolite catalysts include a zeolite carrier having a silica to alumina ratio from about 15:1 to about 256:1 and a copper to alumina ratio from about 0.25:1 to about 1:1.

Copper CHA zeolite catalysts

Disclosed are zeolite catalysts having the CHA crystal structure with a low silica to alumina ratio, as well as articles and systems incorporating the catalysts and methods for their preparation and use. The catalysts can be used to reduce NOx from exhaust gas streams, particularly those emanating from gasoline or diesel engines.

Chabazite zeolite catalysts having low silica to alumina ratios

Catalysts comprising metal-loaded non-zeolitic molecular sieves having the CHA crystal structure, including Cu-SAPO-34, and methods for treating exhaust gas incorporating such catalysts are disclosed. The catalysts can be used to remove nitrogen oxides from a gaseous medium across a broad temperature range and exhibit hydrothermal stability at high reaction temperatures.

Methods utilizing non-zeolitic metal-containing molecular sieves having the CHA crystal structure

Zeolites having CHA framework structure and a composition comprising the molar ratio (n SiO2): X203, wherein X is a trivalent element, and wherein n is at least 10, wherein the crystal size, as determined from Scanning Electron Microscopy, is greater than 1 micrometer and wherein the chabazite framework is phase-pure having an impurity of other zeolitic frameworks, such as RUT 25 as determined by X-ray Diffraction, of less than 5%. The process for the preparation comprises: (i) preparation of an aqueous solution containing at least one source for X203 , wherein X is selected from Al, B, Ga, and a mixture of two or more, and at least one source for SiO2, at least one organic structure directing agent (SDA) other than Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH), acting as a template for the CHA structure, and Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH), wherein the SDA or mixtures thereof are employed in such amounts that the aqueous solution in (i) exhibits a molar ratio of SDA : TMAOH of 0.01 to 5; (ii) hydrothermal crystallization of the aqueous solution according to (i); wherein the aqueous solution of (i) contains copper in an amount less than 0.005 Cu:((n YO2)+X203) where n is in the range of 10 to 50.

Process for the preparation of zeolites having CHA structure

Described is a copper containing ZSM-34, OFF and/or ERI zeolitic material having a silica to alumina mole ratio ranging from about 4 to about 50 and a copper content, reported as CuO, ranging from about 1 to about 10 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the calcined zeolitic material, and having an alkali metal content, reported as the metal oxide, of less than about 0.7 wt.-%.

Copper containing ZSM-34, OFF and/or ERI zeolitic material for selective reduction of NOx

A process for the preparation of a copper containing zeolitic material having CHA framework structure and a composition comprising the molar ratio (n YO2):X2O3 wherein X is a trivalent element, preferably Al, Y is a tetravalent element, preferably Si, and wherein n is preferably at least 20, and wherein the calcined material comprises crystallites having edges, and at least 90% of the crystallites have edges with a mean length in the range of from 1 to 5 micrometer. The process comprising the preparation of an phosphor-free aqueous solution containing at least one source for X2O3 and at least one source for YO2, at least one structure directing agent suitable for the preparation of a zeolitic material having CHA framework structure, and at least one Cu source, and the process further comprising the hydrothermal crystallization of said aqueous solution obtaining a suspension containing the copper containing zeolitic material having CHA framework structure.

Process for the direct synthesis of Cu containing zeolites having CHA structure

Aspects of the present invention relates to a copper containing Levyne molecular sieve having a silica to alumina mole ratio less than 30 and a Cu:Al atomic ratio less than 0.45, wherein the Levyne molecular sieve retains at least 60% of its surface area after exposure to a temperature of from about 750&#xb0; C. to about 950&#xb0; C. in the present of up to 10 volume percent water vapor for a time ranging from about 1 to about 48 hours.
