A portable suction pump unit for aspirating body fluids and/or air from a patient has a pump module housing for a pump module and a fluid collection container. The pump module housing has a pump-side suction connector, and the fluid collection container has a container-side suction connector for leaktight connection to the pump-side suction connector. The two suction connectors define a common axis. The fluid collection container can be secured on the pump module housing via a repeatedly releasable and restorable connection. This connection is releasable and/or restorable by means of a rotation movement of the fluid collection container relative to the pump module housing about said axis. The suction unit according to the invention is inexpensive to produce and permits an easily manageable connection between housing and container.

Portable suction pump unit

A fluid collection reservoir for receiving an aspirated fluid has a secretion connection for connecting a drainage tube situated at a patient's side, and a vacuum connection for connecting to a suction pump. The reservoir has an interior space which is divided by means of ribs. The interior space is divided at least into a vacuum chamber and a secretion chamber, with said two chambers being connected to one another by means of at least one passage. The vacuum connector is arranged in the vacuum chamber and the secretion connector is arranged in the secretion chamber. This reservoir prevents contamination of the suction line or of the suction pump with aspirated fluid.

Fluid collection reservoir

A piston pump device has a support unit, a pump cylinder, and a pump piston arranged in the pump cylinder. The pump cylinder has a longitudinal center axis, and a cylinder bottom arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal center axis. The pump piston is movable relative to the cylinder bottom, and the pump cylinder is secured on the support unit by a securing unit. The securing unit has a leaf spring, which permits a pivoting movement of the longitudinal center axis of the pump cylinder relative to the support unit. The piston pump device is wear-resistant and runs quietly. When used as a suction pump, the piston pump device additionally permits a controllable air flow until the pump comes to a stop.

Piston pump device

The drainage pump unit according to the invention for aspirating body fluids by means of a suction pump comprises a drainage pump device with a pump housing () for receiving the suction pump, and a fluid collection container () that can be secured releasably on the pump housing (). The drainage pump unit also comprises a pump-side attachment part () which has a connection element for connection to a patient-side drainage tube (). The attachment part () is held releasably on the pump housing (), and it has a connector piece () onto which an attachment opening () of the fluid collection container () can be fitted. Alternatively, the attachment part () can have an attachment opening into which a connector piece of the fluid collection container () can be inserted. The connection element and the connector piece () or attachment opening are connected to each other via a drainage channel () extending through the attachment part (). This drainage pump unit allows the fluid collection container to be replaced without removing the drainage tube and, therefore, without disturbing the patient.

Drainage pump unit

The drainage pump unit according to the invention for aspirating body fluids by means of a suction pump comprises a drainage pump device with a pump housing () for receiving the suction pump, and a fluid collection container () that can be secured releasably on the pump housing (). The drainage pump unit also comprises a pump-side attachment part () which has a connection element for connection to a patient-side drainage tube (). The attachment part () is held releasably on the pump housing (). This drainage pump unit allows the fluid collection container to be replaced without removing the drainage tube and, therefore, without disturbing the patient.

A drainage tube unit for aspirating body fluids by means of a suction pump comprises a drainage tube () for aspirating the body fluids and at least one service tube (), each of them with a patient-side end and a pump-side end, the patient-side ends of the drainage tube () and of the service tube () being arranged in a common patient-side attachment part (), and the pump-side ends of the drainage tube () and of the service tube () being arranged in a common pump-side attachment part (). The ends of the drainage tube () extend separate from the ends of the service tube (), the patient-side ends opening into a drainage channel () and a service channel () of the patient-side attachment part (), and the pump-side ends opening into a drainage channel () and a service channel () of the pump-side attachment part (). The drainage tube unit according to the invention is inexpensive to produce and is easy and safe to use.

Drainage tube unit

The portable aspiration pump unit of the invention, for the aspiration of bodily fluids, has a pump assembly housing () with a pump assembly () and at least one secretion or fluid collection reservoir () detachably connected to this pump assembly housing (). The pump assembly housing has a front wall (), a rear wall (), and a side wall () arranged between these two walls, while the front wall and the rear wall each have one wall edge () projecting beyond this side wall, and the fluid collection reservoir is held between these wall edges. In this way, the fluid collection reservoir can be secured easily to the pump assembly housing, yet be held firmly and protected inside it. This aspiration pump unit enables a simple and secure replacing of the fluid collection reservoir and affords the patient a heightened mobility.
