An anti-theft alarm device adapted to be associated to a wheel or a tire of a vehicle is provided. The anti-theft alarm device comprises kinetic sensors configured to detect movements of the wheel or tire where the anti-theft alarm device is installed, and a communication interface configured for communicating over a mobile communication network to transmit data related to the detected movements of the wheel or tire detected by the kinetic sensors. A system is also disclosed, comprising at least one anti-theft alarm device and a remote server in communication relationships with the at least one anti-theft alarm device.

Anti-theft alarm device for wheels / tires of vehicles

A receiver adapted to receive a modulated signal including useful and interfering signals and to detect information bits carried thereon. The modulated signal comprises signal components each one associated with a respective modulation subcarrier and including respective useful and interfering signal components. The receiver may include a first estimation unit providing a respective first useful signal component estimate indicative of the useful signal component for each signal component; a second estimation unit providing a respective second useful signal component estimate indicative of the useful signal component for each signal component; a channel estimation unit estimating, for each signal component, a first channel frequency response associated with the respective useful signal component and a second channel frequency response associated with the respective interfering signal component; and a control unit determining, for each signal component, an interference level experienced by that signal component according to respective first and second channel frequency responses.

Reconfigurable receiver for wireless communication networks

A method for a wireless network, including a node and a first device covered by the node, the node acting as serving node for the first device, and the first device transmitting first data to the node over a first link, includes determining presence of a second device covered by the node, the second device transmitting second data to a serving node over a second link, determining radio quality of the first link, determining radio quality of the second link, and determining radio quality of a third link between the second device and the first device. If the radio quality of the third link is higher than the radio quality of the second link, the second device transmits the second data to the first device over the third link and the first device retransmits, over the first link, the second data to the node.

Configurable wireless device network

An iterative receiver receives a signal including useful and interfering signal components, and detects information carried thereon. The receiver includes at least one estimating unit receiving the signal and providing an estimate of each signal component, and at least two decoding and regenerating units, at each iteration, each decoding and regenerating unit decoding a respective one among the estimates and for regenerating the respective decoded estimate into a respective regenerated estimate. At each receiver iteration, the at least one estimating unit provides estimates based on regenerated estimates provided at a previous iteration. The receiver further includes a control unit determines activation or deactivation of each decoding and regenerating unit at each process step of a detection process dedicated to detection of the signal, and determines, for each process step, a respective number of allowed iterations for each decoding and regenerating unit whose activation has been determined for that process step.

Receiver for wireless communication networks

A method for estimating a signal to interference and noise ratio of a communication link between a first node and a second node of a wireless communication network, the network comprising a number of further communication links between said first node and a number of further nodes. The method comprises, at the first node, providing first estimates of useful signal powers on all the links; providing second estimates of the signal powers on the link and on the further communication links on the basis of, jointly, the first estimate of the signal power on the link and the first estimates of the signal powers on the further links; estimating the signal to interference and noise ratio as a ratio between the second estimate of the signal power on the link and a power term comprising a sum of the second estimates of the signal powers on the further links.

Signal to interference and noise ratio estimation

An iterative receiver is proposed for receiving in a cell a signal and for providing information carried on the signal by execution of at least one processing iteration. The receiver includes an estimate assembly for receiving the signal and providing, at each one of the processing iterations, a respective information estimate; a regeneration assembly for receiving, at each processing iteration, the information estimate provided by the estimate assembly at that iteration, and for providing a regenerated signal therefrom based on the information estimate and on attenuation of radio channels over which the signal has been transmitted; an interference estimate unit for providing, at each iteration, an interference estimate based on the signal and the regenerated signal, the estimate assembly providing, starting from a second processing iteration of the processing iterations, the information estimate based on the interference estimate; and an extraction unit for extracting the information from the information estimate.

An antenna device including: a first antenna assembly configured to receive first radiofrequency signals polarized according to a first polarization; a second antenna assembly configured to receive second radiofrequency signals polarized according to a second polarization orthogonal to the first polarization; and a radiofrequency signal handling assembly coupled with the first and second antenna assemblies, and configured to handle the received first radiofrequency signals separately from the received second radiofrequency signals.

A receiver receiving in a cell at least first and second data streams included in at least first and second signals. The receiver includes: a first estimating unit configured to receive the first and second signals and provide an estimate of first data on the first data stream; a regenerating unit configured to provide a regenerated first data stream based on the first data estimate and attenuation of first radio channels transmitting the first data stream; a second estimating unit configured to provide an estimate of second data on the second data stream based on the regenerated first data stream, on the first and second signals, on attenuation of second radio channels transmitting the second data stream, and on inter/intra-cell interference; and first and second extractions units configured to extract first and second information within the first and second data based on the estimates of the first and second data.

A method is provided for selecting a precoding matrix to be used in an MIMO communication system. The MIMO communication system includes a transmitter, a receiver and a communication channel. The precoding matrix is used by the transmitter to precode codewords to be transmitted to the receiver over the communication channel. At the receiver, an optimum precoding matrix within a codebook of precoding matrices is determined based on a metric related to the power of received signal layers. An indication is then fed back from the receiver to the transmitter to enable the transmitter to select the optimum precoding matrix from the codebook.

A method of transmitting speech data to a remote device in a distributed speech recognition system, includes the steps of: dividing an input speech signal into frames; calculating, for each frame, a voice activity value representative of the presence of speech activity in the frame; grouping the frames into multiframes, each multiframe including a predetermined number of frames; calculating, for each multiframe, a voice activity marker representative of the number of frames in the multiframe representing speech activity; and selectively transmitting, on the basis of the voice activity marker associated with each multiframe, the multiframes to the remote device.

Method and apparatus for transmitting speech data to a remote device in a distributed speech recognition system

A radio resource scheduling method for scheduling radio resources used for communications in a radio communication system includes user equipment configured to communicate with transceiver stations on the radio resources. The transceiver stations are configured to exchange coordination messages concerning radio resources affected by intra-system interference. The radio resource scheduling method includes allocating to each user equipment served by a transceiver station a corresponding radio resource and a corresponding transmission power level to communicate with the serving transceiver station. Allocating is based on coordination messages exchanged by the serving transceiver station.

Radio resource scheduling for intra-system interference coordination in wireless communication systems

A method of scheduling transmissions in a multi-carrier transmission system, includes, for each downlink transmission frame: partitioning the downlink transmission frame into a plurality of data regions each including an equal number of slots, each data region corresponding to a respective logical band; for a currently active connection: a) creating a first set of logical bands not fully occupied for transmission and having a minimum boosting level making the transmission receivable by a receiving terminal; b) extracting from the first set, a second set of logical bands available for allocating a maximum number of slots for downlink transmission to the active connection; and c) selecting the logical band for downlink transmission to the active connection from the second set as the logical band that, after allocating the slots to the considered connection, leaves a residual number of slots equal to or smaller than a predetermined minimum residual in the logical band, e.g., the smallest residual number of slots.

Method and system for downlink transmission scheduling in multi-carrier networks

Downlink and uplink communication resources to ensure network coverage and satisfy assigned traffic requirements in a communication network are allocated by setting a given balance of downlink and uplink communication resources while leaving a part of downlink and uplink communication resources remaining to be allocated. Downlink cell radius and uplink cell radius values are then determined which ensure network coverage with the resources as previously allocated. An effective cell radius is then selected as the smaller of the downlink and uplink cell radius and then a first check is made as to whether the effective cell radius selected satisfies the assigned traffic requirements. If not, the effective cell radius is updated. If so, a further check may be made as whether the resources remaining to be allocated for downlink and uplink have a difference in excess of a given amount. If yes, the procedure is repeated by setting an updated balance of downlink and uplink communication resources reducing that difference. If not, the communication resources are allocated on the basis of the current balance.
