An assembly for producing sealed packaging units () from a sheet packaging material, comprises: an advancement device () for advancing the sheet packaging material along an advancement direction (F), a longitudinal sealing device for sealing opposite borders of the sheet packaging material along a longitudinal sealing band arranged parallelly to the advancement direction (F), thereby forming a continuous tube (), a transverse sealing device () for sealing the continuous tube () transversely to the advancement direction (F), so as to define a sealed packaging unit (). The transverse sealing device () comprises a sealing element () and an abutment element () that are intended to mutually cooperate during sealing while being located on opposite sides of the continuous tube (). The sealing element () is so configured as to act on a side () of the continuous tube () on which the longitudinal sealing band is provided.

Assembly for producing sealed packaging units

A packaging unit for producing sealed packages from a tube of packaging material advanced along a first axis includes: at least two jaws arranged on opposite sides of the first axis and movable between a closed position, in which they grip and seal the tube and an open position, in which they are detached from the tube; at least two forming members supported by the respective jaws in a movable manner between a first operating position, in which, in relation to the position of the jaws, they have the maximum distance from one another, and a second operating position, in which they mate with one another and an actuator to produce movement of the forming members; the actuator includes at least one mover connected to both forming members and selectively activated to perform opposite strokes, along which the mover itself produces the movement of each forming members.

Packaging unit for producing sealed packages containing a pourable food product from a tube of packaging material

A packaging unit for producing sealed packages from a tube of a sheet packaging material fed along a feed path having a first axis; unit comprises: jaws movable cyclically along path between a seal position in which they grip and seal tube to form sealing bands of packages, and a rest position in which they are detached from tube; and folding flaps fitted movably to jaws; folding flaps are movable between: an open position in which they are detached from tube, and a fully closed position in which they cooperate with tube for forming folded flaps in package; the jaws are also cyclically movable in an intermediate position, which is arranged between rest position and seal position; folding flaps are movable relative to the jaws into a partly closed position, which is arranged between open position and fully closed position, when the jaws are set in intermediate position.

Packaging unit and method for producing sealed packages

A forming jaw for producing a succession of sealed packages from a tube of sheet packaging material filled with a pourable food product and fed in a direction parallel to its longitudinal axis is disclosed. The jaw includes sealing structure that seals a cross section of the tube; and forming structure that imparts a predetermined shape to the tube between two successive sealed cross sections. The forming structure has first and second surfaces for interacting with the tube and which extend respectively in a direction crosswise to, and in a direction parallel to, the axis of the tube. The first surface has a convex portion which exerts pressure on, to control filling of, the packages being formed.
