System and method for avionics integrity and protection

Systems and methods for securely communicating between a mobile computing device and a vehicle system are provided. A method includes receiving authentication data from the mobile computing device over a first communication link between the vehicle system and the mobile computing device. The method further includes authenticating the mobile computing device using the authentication data received over the first communication link. Subsequent to the initial authentication phase, the method further allows transmitting encrypted data from the vehicle system to the mobile computing device (and vice-versa) over a second communication link. The encrypted data is encrypted using the authentication data transmitted over the first communication link. The second communication link is a wireless communication link that is more susceptible to one or more security risks than the first communication link.

Hybrid secure communication system and method

The disclosure is directed to a system and method for establishing a secured wireless connection allowing the exchange of information between a wireless device and aircraft equipment. The secured wireless access system may require a user controlling the wireless device to interact with an onboard interface to initiate a connection. The user may be further required to enter a randomly generated security passcode to pair the mobile device to the aircraft equipment. Further security measures may be implemented, such as tiered user access levels restricting certain equipment and/or information based upon a user identity of the user requesting access.

Secured wireless access system and related method

An apparatus for controlling an aviation display is provided. The apparatus includes processing electronics configured to cause a first representation of a first aviation data to be shown in a first format of the first aviation data, and to cause, in response to a first user input in relation to the first format, a second representation of the first aviation data to be shown in a second format of the first aviation data, the second format of the first aviation data comprising a first predefined location on a first region of a display.
