A free radical radiation curable inkjet ink containing a photoinitiator and polymerizable compounds includes a) no more than 15 wt % of one or more monofunctional acrylates wherein the homopolymer thereof has a Tsmaller than 20&#xb0; C.; and b) at least 45 wt % of a mixture of monomers consisting of b1) 10 to 45 wt % of a N-vinyl lactam and/or a vinylether acrylate; and b2) 10 to 45 wt % of an ethoxylated and/or propoxylated polyacrylate having a molecular weight of at least 450; wherein all wt % are based on the total weight of the inkjet ink; and wherein the Tis determined by the DSC method in ISO 11357-2:1999.

Flexible, scratch resistant radiation curable inkjet inks

A free radical radiation curable inkjet ink containing a photoinitiator and polymerizable compounds includes at least 45 wt % of a mixture of monomers consisting of: a) 10 to 35 wt % of one or more cyclic monofunctional acrylates wherein the homopolymer thereof has a Tlarger than 20&#xb0; C.; b) 10 to 30 wt % of a N-vinyl lactam and/or a vinylether acrylate; c) 10 to 30 wt % of an ethoxylated and/or propoxylated polyacrylate having a molecular weight of at least 450; wherein all wt % are based on the total weight of the inkjet ink; and wherein the Tis determined by the DSC method in ISO 11357-2:1999.

A radiation curable inkjet fluid includes a radiation curable composition including at least 25 wt % of a vinylether acrylate and at least 15 wt % of a polymerizable compound including at least three acrylate groups, each wt % being based upon the total weight of the radiation curable composition; and a photoinitiator including a tertiary amine group and 0 to 3 wt % of isopropylthioxanthone based upon the total weight of the radiation curable inkjet fluid. Binders for use in the thermosensitive elements of substantially light-insensitive thermographic recording materials

A black and white thermographic recording material comprising a thermosensitive element and a support, the thermosensitive element containing at least one substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt, a binder and optionally photosensitive silver halide, characterized in that the thermosensitive element further contains deliberately added metal nano-particles in a molar ratio with respect to the total molar concentration of the at least one substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt in the range of 0.05:1 to 10:1; and the use for the purpose of increasing the ratio of Dto the quantity of said substantially light-insensitive organic silver salts per unit area of the above-mentioned thermographic recording material.

A thermal head printer for printing but not perforating a substantially light-insensitive thermographic material, the thermal printer comprising: a transport system having a transport direction, n thermal heads, where n is an integer, each of the thermal heads comprising an array of substantially rectangular energizable heating elements, the heating elements having a length Lin the transport direction and a pitch Pbetween adjacent heating elements, and a means for supplying electrical energy to each of the substantially rectangular energizable heating elements in at least one of the thermal heads, the transport system being capable of transporting the light-insensitive thermographic material in contact or proximity with at least one of the thermal heads, wherein at least one of the thermal heads comprises heating elements for which L/Pis between 0.25 and 0.88; a first process for printing a substantially light-insensitive thermographic material with the above-described thermal head printer; a second process for printing a substantially light-insensitive thermographic material at different printing speeds with a thermal head comprising heating elements without significant variation in image tone, wherein the length of the heating elements in the transport direction of the substantially light-insensitive thermographic material decreases with decreasing printing speed; and a third process for printing a substantially light-insensitive thermographic material at different printing speeds with a different thermal head at each printing speed without significant variation in image tone, wherein each of said different thermal heads comprises heating elements with a different length in the transport direction of the substantially light-insensitive thermographic material and the length of the heating elements in the transport direction of the substantially light-insensitive thermographic material decreases with decreasing printing speed.

Thermal head printer and process for printing substantially light-insensitive recording material
