Compositions based on &#x3b5;-caprolactone polymer, comprising at least one &#x3b5;-caprolactone polymer and calcium carbonate. The invention concerns thermoplastic aliphatic polyester compositions characterized by a melt flow index (RMFI) ranging between 1.1 and 2.5. The invention also concerns a method for preparing said compositions which are used for making films, foams, flasks or thermoformed products. The resulting films obtained from said compositions are used for making litter bags, films for agricultural use, packaging films, shrouds, diaper drawers and adhesive films.

A poly-.epsilon.-caprolactone film whose weight-average molecular mass is equal to at least 75,000 g/mol having a modulus in tension of at least 600 MPa in the transverse and longitudinal direction and a shrinkage not exceeding 1% in both directions below the poly-.epsilon.-caprolactone melting zone. The process for producing the poly-.epsilon.-caprolactone film comprises online extrusion of the poly-.epsilon.-caprolactone through a die having a temperature not exceeding 160.degree. C. immediately following its polymerization using aluminum trialkoxide as initiator. The films according to the invention are suitable for producing films for packaging, for the protection of produce or for diapers.

Semirigid poly-epsilon-caprolactone film and process for producing it

The invention relates to polymeric compositions comprising at least one polyolefin, at least one thermoplastic starch and at least one ionic compound, the latter being present in a content such that the concentration of anions and of cations in the composition is from 0.002 to 5 mol/kg. It also relates to the master mixture used for the manufacture of these compositions and containing the thermoplastic starch and the ionic compound. The compositions are suitable, in particular, for the production of mono- or multilayer films which can be used, especially, in the paper-making industry.
