The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of providing a secure quantum key distribution cryptosystem in which the quantum key data is exchanged between Alice and Bob using a quantum channel and the parity bits associated with the quantum key data are encrypted using a post-quantum computing (PQC) encryption method and communicated between Alice and Bob using a public channel.

Joint twin-field quantum key distribution cryptosystem

The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of providing the next generation of quantum enabled cyber security systems. Such systems include a quantum network of satellites that will provide global coverage. The quantum satellite network includes quantum subnetworks comprised of LEO satellites. Some of these LEO satellite-based quantum subnetworks are connected to a subnetwork of MEO satellites. The MEO satellite subnetworks may then be interconnected to the global network of GEO satellites. The LEO/MEO satellites may also be used to interconnect terrestrial quantum networks. Each quantum communication subnetwork may be based on the cluster state concept.

Global quantum communication networks

Disclosed are systems, methods, and software for generating spatially-coupled low-density parity-check (SC-LDPC) codes. A method for generating SC-LDPC codes includes generating one or more quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes, and also includes assigning at least one of the generated one or more QC-LDPC codes as one or more template codes. The method further includes copying at least a portion of the one or more template codes to introduce irregularity. The method also includes shifting one or more template codes on a sub-block basis to generate at least one SC-LDPC code. As compared to known LDPC code generation modalities, the disclosed invention provides a simplified technique for implementation in streamlined hardware which has more general applicability across both present, and anticipated, communication systems, including those adapted for use with optical communications, wireless communications, and 5G as well as future 6G.

FPGA-based rate-adaptive spatially-coupled LDPC codes for optical communications

A controller to communications between a baseband unit (BBU) and a remote radio head (RRH) in a mobile fronthaul (MFH) network. The controller to initialize a pseudorandom seeding in the BBU and RRH and to cause the BBU and RRH to generate a pair of matching pseudorandom bit sequences (PRBS) to enable the BBU and RRH to synchronize communications therebetween; to select a wavelength and to select a route, through the MFH network, to enable the BBU and RRH to communicate using the selected wavelength and route; to select an error correction code and a modulation format for communications between the BBU and RRH; to encode one or more parameters of a physical layer in the MFH network into the PRBS; and to monitor a data stream between the BBU and RRH to determine if a bit error rate has changed for each frame of the data stream.

Probabilistically coded modulation for fronthaul networks

Systems and methods for orbital angular momentum (OAM)-based multidimensional wireless communication. The OAM-based multidimensional wireless communication is preformed with a transmitter for generating an RF modulated signal carrying a data sequence. Further included is an OAM antenna array including OAM antenna elements, each of which includes an azimuthal phase shifter and an antenna element. The azimuthal phase shifter shifts an azimuthal phase term of a wavefront generated by the antenna element such that the OAM antenna element imposes the multidimensional modulated signal on a pre-determined OAM mode of a carrier signal corresponding to the azimuthal phase term.

Antenna array based OAM wireless communication

Systems and methods for quantum key distribution using orbital angular momentum (OAM)-modes-enabled secure multidimensional coded modulation. The quantum key distribution including symbols of a raw key across subcarriers and multiplexing the subcarriers to form an electrical carrier. Then optically modulating the electrical carrier with an electro-optical modulator using an optical signal. The optically modulated electrical carrier is then imposed on a pre-determined OAM mode using an optical OAM multiplexer, attenuated, and transmitted across a quantum channel. A receiver then receives the transmitted signal and demultiplexes it with an optical OAM demultiplexer to extract projections. The projections then undergo optical-to-electrical conversion using a coherent optical detector with an optical signal from a local oscillator. A resulting estimated electrical carrier is then demultiplexed into subcarriers. The subcarrier undergo phase noise cancellation and subsequent demodulation to extract estimated symbol constellation points corresponding the symbols of the raw key.

Transmitter/receiver with orbital angular momentum based optical encryption

Systems and methods for orbital angular momentum (OAM)-based multidimensional signaling with multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO). The wireless communication is achieved using a transmitter including a plurality of orthogonal pulse shapers of a multidimensional modulator, the plurality of orthogonal pulse shapers generating a multidimensional modulated signal by imposing one or more data sequences on corresponding mutually orthogonal filter impulse responses derived from multiple orthogonal basis functions including Slepian sequences. An OAM antenna array including OAM antenna elements is used such that each of the OAM antenna elements includes an azimuthal phase shifter for shifting an azimuthal phase term of a wavefront generated by an antenna element such that the OAM antenna elements impose the multidimensional modulated signal on pre-determined OAM modes of a carrier signal corresponding to the azimuthal phase term.

Multidimensional coded modulation for wireless communications

A method and switch are provided for reconfigurable optical space switch. The method includes receiving a control signal, from a controller, to configure a path through the reconfigurable optical space switch. The method also includes applying a voltage to one or more direction changing devices at each intersection between each of the east-west optical waveguides and each of the north-south optical waveguides to form the path through the reconfigurable optical space switch. The method additionally includes receiving an optical signal in one of a plurality of passive waveguides at a beginning of the path, including the plurality of east-west optical waveguides and the plurality of north-south optical waveguides. The method further includes outputting the optical signal out on of the plurality of passive waveguides at an end of the path.

Reconfigurable optical space switch

A method to process applicable to coherent optical channels with either linear or nonlinear phase noise includes: splitting a received sequence of data into clusters of points according to a cumulative log-likelihood function from constellation obtained in a previous iteration; generating new constellation points by calculating a center of mass of the clusters of points; repeating until convergence or until a predetermined number of iterations has been reached to determine a signal constellation; and transmitting signals over the coherent optical channels with nonlinear phase noise using the disclosed signal constellation and LDPC-coded modulation concepts.
