An apparatus for applying electromagnetic energy to an object in an energy application zone via at least one radiating element is disclosed. The apparatus may include at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to determine a value indicative of energy absorbable by the object at each of a plurality of frequencies and to cause the at least one radiating element to apply energy to the zone in at least a subset of the plurality of frequencies. Energy applied to the zone at each of the subset of frequencies may be a function of the absorbable energy value at each frequency.

System and method for applying electromagnetic energy

Method of processing an object in an energy application zone by radio frequency (RF) radiation emitted by one or more radiating elements configured to emit the RF radiation in response to RF energy applied thereto, wherein the method includes controlling supply of RF energy to the one or more radiating elements via an RF energy supply component, receiving measured response values produced based on RF energy received by the one or more radiating elements from the energy application zone, accessing a stored set of coefficients associated with the RF energy supply component, said set of coefficients being utilized to transform the measured response values and controlling application of RF energy to the one or more radiating elements based on the measured response values and the set of coefficients.

Calibration of an RF processing system

Apparatus for processing an object includes a cavity for receiving therein the object. A plurality of processing antennas are configured to coherently feed the cavity with RF radiation generated by a processing RF source. A memory stores processing instructions for each object from a given group of objects. A user interface is configured to receive identification of an object to be processed from a user. A processor is configured to receive from the interface indication of the identification of the object, select a processing instruction based on the indication, and control the processing RF source to radiate according to the selected processing instruction. The energy processing instruction includes a plurality of excitation setups, each excitation setup of said plurality of excitation setups including amplitudes, each of which is associated with one of the plurality of antennas, and one or more phase differences associated with each two antennas associated with non-zero amplitudes.

Apparatus and method for sensing and processing by RF

Apparatuses and methods are provided for processing an object in a cavity. The apparatuses include at least one radio frequency (RF) energy supply component configured to supply RF energy for application to one or more radiating elements configured to emit RF radiation in response to the applied RF energy. In some embodiments, a provided apparatus also includes a memory storing a set of coefficients associated with the RF energy supply component; and a processor configured to receive feedback in response to emission of RF radiation by the one or more radiating elements and control application of RF energy to one or more of the radiating elements based on the feedback and the set of coefficients.

A disclosed apparatus for sensing and processing an object in a cavity () comprises a sensing RF source () and a sensing antenna (), and a processing RF source () and a processing antenna (). The sensing RF source is configured to generate low power RF radiation at a first frequency range and the sensing antenna is configured to feed the cavity with RF radiation generated by the low power RF source. An apparatus applies electromagnetic (EM) energy at a plurality of modulation space elements (MSEs) to an object in an energy application zone via at least one radiating element. The apparatus includes at least one processor and a memory that includes instructions, that when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations. The operations include receiving information sensed by a detector and determining an energy application schedule based on the information sensed by the detector, the energy application schedule comprising timing instructions for applying the EM energy at an irregular order of MSEs, and causing application of the EM energy at the plurality of MSEs to the object in the energy application zone via the at least one radiating element, according to the energy application schedule determined.

Methods and devices for applying RF energy according to energy application schedules

Electromagnetic energy is applied to an object at multiple modulation space elements (MSEs). MSEs are grouped into at least a first subset and a second subset according to a first grouping rule. A first EM energy application protocol is associated with the first subset and a second EM energy application protocol is associated with the second subset. Energy is applied at each of the plurality of MSEs according to the first EM energy application protocol and the second EM energy application protocol. MSEs are grouped into a third subset and a fourth subset according to a second grouping rule. A third EM energy application protocol is associated with the third subset and a fourth EM energy application protocol is associated with the fourth subset. EM energy at each of the plurality of MSEs is applied according to the third EM energy application protocol and the fourth EM energy application protocol.

An apparatus for applying electromagnetic (EM) energy to an object in an energy application zone via at least one radiating element at a plurality of modulation space elements (MSEs) is disclosed. The apparatus comprises: at least one processor configured to determine an amount of energy to be supplied to the at least one radiating element at a first subset of the plurality of MSEs, determine an energy application schedule comprising timing instructions for applying energy at at least a subset of the plurality of MSEs, and cause application of energy according to the determined amounts of energy and the determined energy application schedule.
