A diagnosis support device includes a control unit that correlates a plurality of pixels included in a two-dimensional image with two or more classes including a biological tissue class, the two-dimensional image being generated by using a signal of a reflected wave of ultrasound transmitted inside a biological tissue through which blood passes and the two-dimensional image including the biological tissue, generates a three-dimensional image of the biological tissue from a pixel group correlated with the biological tissue class, and performs control of displaying the generated three-dimensional image of the biological tissue.

A medical device capable of improving handling properties and maintaining excellent insulation properties of conductive wires for supplying electricity to electrodes for performing treatment includes: an elongated shaft part having a guide wire lumen formed therein, the guide wire lumen being open at a distal part; a plurality of electrodes which are disposed on the distal side of the shaft part, extend in the longitudinal direction of the shaft part, and are deformable in the radial direction of the shaft part; and a plurality of conductive wires which extend from the proximal side of the shaft part to the distal side thereof and transfer electricity to an electrode layer. The conductive wires extend inside the electrodes and outside the guide wire lumen, and are electrically connected to the electrodes at the distal side of the electrodes.

A catheter includes a sheath that is inserted into a lumen; a drive shaft that transmits mechanical drive force; a hub that moves the drive shaft; an outer tube that is provided in the sheath on a proximal side and comprises a first connector at a proximal portion; an inner tube that can move inside the outer tube; a second connector that can be connected to and disconnected from the first connector and can receive the inner tube; a sheath connection portion that connects the sheath and the outer tube; and a protective tube that protrudes toward a distal side further than the inner tube, accommodates the drive shaft, can be inserted into the outer tube and the sheath, and can be pulled out of the outer tube together with the hub and the inner tube as the second connector is disconnected from the first connector.

The construction prevents the connector,part of the ultrasound imaging catheter,from contamination and allows it to retain a sterilized state thereof and enables the ultrasound imaging catheter,to be attached to and detached from the external drive device,without interrupting the operation.

A surgical instrument is disclosed which is suitably adapted for use in operations to be performed under an endoscopic surgery. This surgical instrument comprises an elongate main body of the instrument, a leading end part disposed on the leading end side of the main body of the instrument and endowed with surgically operating member for producing an open-close motion or a rotary motion, a manipulating part for effecting remote control of the surgically operating member, and an elongate transmitting member for transmitting the operation in the manipulating part to the leading end part mentioned above. It is provided in or near the leading end part with a locking mechanism for regulating the motion of the transmitting member relative to the leading end part and fixing the posture of the surgically operating member. This surgical instrument allows the surgically operating member to fix the posture thereof infallibly, permits simplification of the construction of the manipulating part, and enjoys outstanding operational efficiency.
