Systems and methods for assembling LED connector boards

A Near Field Communication (NFC) tag placed inside a light fixture is provided with information by using a commissioning device such as a smartphone or other dedicated tool. For example, in one implementation, a light fixture in a smart lighting control system can be provided with a microcontroller that has access to the memory of a NFC tag. A commissioning device or tool with GPS and NFC capabilities obtains and writes GPS coordinates to the memory of the NFC tag. After the fixture is connected to the network, the smart system can then access the written GPS coordinates from the memory in the NFC tag. Based on this information, a user with access to the microcontroller (e.g., via computer network) can view the map of fixtures based on the obtained coordinates.

Methods for assembling LED connector board

LED lighting systems and methods for retro-fitting existing lighting systems such as acorn and other globe style fixtures is disclosed. The retro-fit systems can be provided with an LED driver, an adaptor casting which mounts to industry standard fixture, a riser for adjusting the height of the lighting fixture, and an assembly of an optically active sealing lens, a heat sink and a LED board, wherein the LED lights, which can be made up of a plurality of LEDs, are arranged in concentric rings on the LED board, and are fitted with a sealing lens in the form of a rotated bubble optic with concentric grooves on the inner surface.

Systems and methods for retrofitting existing lighting systems

A DC-powered LED lighting device and a lighting system using such devices are disclosed. A common AC/DC power supply is coupled to at least one electric main and provides power to the LED lighting devices at DC voltages that are higher than the peak voltage of the sine wave of the at least one electric main.

Lighting systems are disclosed, including a multi-die LED array; and LED driver electronics, which include voltage regulating electronics which regulate rectified low voltage AC. The voltage regulating electronics include: booster electronics that sense rectified low voltage AC and boost the LVAC to a predetermined voltage for powering the multi-die LED; power factor correcting electronics that sense the AC current and AC voltage in the driver and control the booster electronics to further regulate the voltage, thereby providing power factor correction; and constant current electronics which sense one or both of current and voltage through the driver and control the booster electronics to further regulate the voltage, thereby providing substantially constant current to the multi-die LED array.

An LED assembly includes an optically active lens, an LED board seated on a first surface of a hear sink, and a gasket disposed between the lens and the heat sink. The lens and the first surface of the heat sink defining a cavity receiving the LED board, with the gasket configured to water-tightly seal the cavity. At least one electrical connector extends through a wall of the lens, with one end provided inside the cavity and connected to the LED board, and another end disposed outside the cavity and connected to a power source.

Connectors for a lighting board are disclosed, adapted for receiving electrical energy from a power source, and via one or more conductive fasteners, both mechanically connecting a lighting board to a lighting frame and transmitting power from a power source into electrical contacts in a lighting board to power a lighting board.

A variable output module provides accurate full range dimming or adjustment of power output. The variable output module utilizes the characteristics of an AC or other periodic signal rather than its power output to accurately determine the level of dimming a user desires. In this manner, the variable output module provides accurate full range dimming without the need for calibration to specific AC signals. The variable output module can detect the period of an AC signal allowing the driver to be used with various frequencies without the need for calibration. In one or more embodiments, the driver compares the pulse widths of a dimmed AC signal to the period of the AC signal to determine the desired level of dimming.

An improved LED provides power efficient lighting while accepting a wide range of input voltages. The improved LED may comprise a controller that may measure a voltage, current, or other characteristics of input power and modify operation of the improved LED accordingly, such as to accept significantly more voltage or significantly less voltage while providing consistent light output. This allows light bulbs or other lighting to be easily manufactured with the improved LED. The improved LED may comprise the controller and one or more LED dies enclosed by a substrate and lens structure. Depending on the configuration of the controller, the improved LED may also provide time, temperature, and other measurement/response functions to help ensure consistent light output.

An LED fixture is disclosed. The fixture includes an LED array having at least one LED, a first LED driver which is a lower intensity driver and a second LED driver which is a higher intensity driver. The LED drivers and the LED array are electrically connected in parallel to each other and the LED drivers are capable of simultaneously and continuously supplying power to each LED in the LED array.

A dimmable LED driver provides accurate full range dimming for LED lighting. The driver utilizes the timing of an AC signal rather than its power output or other characteristics to accurately determine the level of light a user desires. In this manner, the driver provides accurate full range dimming without the need for calibration to specific AC power levels. The driver may detect the period of an AC signal allowing the driver to be used with various frequencies without the need for calibration. In one or more embodiments, the driver compares the pulse widths of a dimmed AC signal to the period of the AC signal to determine the desired light level. The driver may comprise a signal processor and controller in one or more embodiments.
