Apparatus for blood-typing comprises a sampler, a reagent recipient, peristaltic pumps serving for the delivery of the reagents and the materials to be examined, a mixer, reactors, a sample-placing device, elements for the control of volume and means for washing. The mixer is formed as a flattened tube led in a helical line. Before such tube there is a connection for introduction of enzyme. Means for removal of agglutinate test result are provided. The elements serving for the control of volume are formed by telescopic tubes of variable length. The device is much simpler than heretofore known devices. It enables achievement of high operational safety and reduction of production and operation cost.

The reactions for determination of influenza neuraminidase are carried out in a series of bores in a titration plate, heating for the reaction being applied by a heater block with corresponding series of projecting heating elements immersible into the bores, with advantages in ease of mass investigation of different viruses and determination of the state of protection of a population against influenza.

The invention concerns a rapid-action automatic sampling apparatus comprising an intermittently operable sampling probe which is immersible alternately into a sample-containing vessel and a washing vessel. The probe is arranged on an arm secured to a vertical lifting rod which is journalled both for axial displacement and for rotation about its own axis and which is connected with a crank mechanism, including a swivel arm, for lifting or lowering the rod. There is a further mechanism for rotating the rod between two angular positions: this mechanism is arranged on the rod and its mounting and on the swivel arm.
