A technique of providing content via a mobile communications network to a user terminal is described. A method aspect of this technique comprises assigning, in a connection setup phase initiated by the user terminal, a content access limitation to the user terminal. The content access limitation restricts content access by the user terminal to content predefined on a network side. The method further comprises providing the predefined content to the user terminal. The method may be performed in connection with providing location-dependent information, such as map information, to the user terminal even when the user terminal cannot be authenticated in the mobile communications network.

A technique for locating a target tag () using a short range radio based positioning system comprising a plurality of localization components () is provided, wherein the target tag () and the plurality of localization components () are configured to perform ranging measurements among each other using short range radio technology. An anchor system for a location system tracks a location of a tag device mounted to a mobile entity using a plurality of anchor devices. The anchor system comprises an anchor cable, a first anchor device affixed to the anchor cable, one or more second anchor devices affixed to the anchor cable, and a power supply circuit. Each of the second anchor device(s) is spaced from the first anchor device along a length of the anchor cable by a predetermined distance. The power supply circuit is operatively connected to the anchor cable and is configured to supply power to each of the anchor devices via the anchor cable. Each of the anchor devices is configured to wirelessly communicate with the tag device, e.g., which enables a remote network of processors in communication with the anchor devices to determine location data for the tag device.

Real-time location system infrastructure for easy and quick deployment and configuration

Methods and apparatus for use in an Internet-of-Things (IoT) system are presented. A method performed by a network node in an Internet-of-Things (IoT) system is presenting in an example embodiment. According to this example method, a network node or a plurality of network nodes working collaboratively can obtain data captured by one or more IoT devices and associated with an interactive activity with which different participants interface at different sites. Furthermore, the network node(s) may determine a state of the activity by applying the data to a data model. Moreover, the network node(s) can, in an example method, provide one or more feedback signals to feedback devices associated with one or more of the different sites to actualize the determined state of the activity, where at least two of the different sites have disparate, meaning non-identical, feedback device sets.

Technique for online video-gaming with sports equipment

A computer system and computer-automated method for analyzing performance data in a utility network, such as electricity, gas or water supply, are described. A data set is provided that contains a log of a first time sequence of network events which are classified into event types. A second time sequence is generated from the first time sequence by aggregating the events into event groups, and at least a third time sequence is generated by aggregating the event groups into event super-groups. A multi-level time sequence event hierarchy is thus created. The multiple time-sequence levels are rendered into a visualization in which the different event types are visually distinct from each other. The visualization reveals to a domain expert patterns of behavior in the data set which can be used to detect current network problems and to predict future network supply and consumption, for example in a utility network operations center.

Methods and apparatus for resource optimization in Internet-of-Things (IoT) networks are presented. For instance, the disclosure presents an example method executed by a network node () in an IoT system (). In some embodiments, the example method includes predicting () a likelihood that a future event will be detected by one or more IoT devices () in the IoT system () under different potential resource allocation and IoT device settings. The predicting () is conducted subject to resource availability constraints in some examples. In addition, the example method includes, based on the predicting (), adapting () at least one of resource allocation and IoT device settings in the IoT system () for the future time. This adapting () is conducted such that the likelihood that the future event will be detected is maximized under the resource availability constraints according to a target optimization function.

System and method for resource-aware and time-critical IoT frameworks

It is disclosed a method, and a system () capable of localizing ball hit events on a sports court. From on acoustics data acquired () of ball hit events by individual distributed sensors or microphones, ball hitting patterns are identified () in the data from each individual sensor. Based on the identified ball hitting patterns and geometric constraints of a sports court and the distribution of sensors, ball hit events are detected (). The localization of the detected ball bit events is determined () based on the geometrical constraints of the sports court and the sensor distribution. The system has a number of advantages of which some are that it is cheap to install, it is non-invasive, and that it can easily be extended to provide higher precision of ball hit event localization.

We generally describe an audio-based line fault detection system for a sports game. The audio-based line fault detection system comprises one or more audio sensors () for sensing an audio signal generated by a sports gaming device bouncing off a sports field. The sports field comprises surface modifications applied to a line and/or an area adjacent to the line on the sports field such that the generated audio signal is dependent on whether or not the sports gaming device bounces off the sports field where the surface modifications are applied. The detection system is configured to generate a sound profile from the audio signal sensed by the one or more audio sensors (). The detection system is further configured to identify a bounce type based on the sound profile, wherein the bounce type is defined by whether or not the sports gaming device has bounced off the sports field where the surface modifications are applied.

It is disclosed a method, and a device () capable of localizing ball impacts on a surface of an environment. Based on differences between any two consecutive video frames of the video, one or more blurs in the video are detected (). Parameters of the ball are compared () with parameters of the detected one or more moving blurs. When the parameters being compared match, the moving blur for which the parameters match, is associated () with ball. Dimensions of the matching blur are determined (). Based on a change in the dimensions of the moving blur, a ball impact is detected (). Localizing () of the ball impact on a surface, is based on the change in the dimensions of the moving blur being associated with the ball, and environmental parameters. It is an advantage that localization of ball impacts does not require the ball to be continuously visible.

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a radio-layer mechanism, which brings the IP and radio protocol layers closer and simplifies the radio protocols for future mobile networks, so that the extreme high transmission speed that these networks will be capable of may be efficiently utilized. It is presented a method arranged to assist a determination of mobile devices being candidates for handover. The method is performed in a radio traffic detector and comprises: measuring a received signal strength value on a predetermined frequency band; repeating the measuring during a time period; generating a message comprising a timestamp associated with the time period, and a plurality of message elements, wherein each message element is based on a respective received signal strength value for respectively different time instances within the time period; and transmitting the message to a network node to assist the determination of mobile devices being candidates for handover. By using measured received signal strength, uplink traffic can be detected without the need to decode the signals. Corresponding radio traffic device, network node and method are also presented.
