The present invention relates to a system and method for performing a protocol-driven ultrasound examination for generating an image of moving cardiac structure and blood of a heart. One embodiment comprises a front-end and at least one processor. The front end is arranged to transmit ultrasound waves into the moving cardiac structure and blood, generating received signals in response to the ultrasound waves backscattered from the moving cardiac structure and blood. The at least one processor, responsive to the received signals, acquires at least one image of the structure in at least one of a predetermined order and a predefined protocol, and selects at least one of the acquired images taken along at least one of a given view and study.

Protocol-driven ultrasound examination

A physiology system is provided that includes an ultrasound beamformer that is configured to receive signals from an ultrasound probe that is located proximate the region of interest. The system includes an ultrasound processor module for generating an ultrasound image, based on the ultrasound data, that is representative of an anatomical structure of a portion of the region of interest contained in the scan plane. A physiology signal processor module is also provided and configured to receive physiology signals from a catheter located proximate the region of interest. The physiology signal processor module produces physiology data representative of the physiology activity of the portion of the region of interest contained in the scan plane. A display processor module forms a display image combining the ultrasound image and physiology data.

Method and system for mapping physiology information onto ultrasound-based anatomic structure

A method for managing outputs to peripheral devices in medical systems devices is described. The method includes providing an instruction to provide an output, creating a data object based on the instruction, and storing the data object in a first memory if a peripheral device that provides the output is not available to accept the data object, where the first memory stores the data object for a longer term than a second memory.

Methods and systems for managing outputs to peripheral devices

A physiology workstation is provided that comprises a communications interface conveying physiology signals derived from a subject and ultrasound data representative of a region of interest of the subject. The ultrasound data is obtained by an ultrasound device in real-time during a procedure carried out on the subject. An physiology processing unit receives and processes the physiology signals. An ultrasound processing unit receives and processes the ultrasound data to generate ultrasound images. The physiology processing unit combines the physiology signals with the ultrasound images from the ultrasound processing unit. A display unit displaying the physiology signals and the ultrasound images. The physiology signals and ultrasound signals are presented jointly to a user in real-time during the procedure being carried out on the subject.
