In a process head for electrophotographic apparatus integrally formed with a charing/exposing chamber, a developing chamber, a drying chamber and a fixing chamber along the feeding direction of the film for recording and thereby made capable of processing plural frames of the recording film simultaneously, stage heads which constitute the respective processing chambers are fixed to a mounting member and a portion with charging mechanism is detachably inserted in the interval space between the stage head corresponding to the charging/exposing chamber and the mounting member so that its maintenance can be facilitated and the apparatus as a whole can be made compact in size.

Photoelectrophoretic photography process involving dual corona

In Reiss chamber method or ionography, or in a method of modification or combination of these methods wherein an electrostatic latent image of an object irradiated with radiations such as X-rays is formed on an insulating image recording layer, a photoconductive material is used as the image recording layer. The charge carried on the photoconductive image recording layer is partly neutralized by the radiations received thereby. In an embodiment, a fluorescent layer is attached to the photoconductive image recording layer to accelerate the neutralization of the charge when the recording layer is exposed to the radiations. In another embodiment, the photoconductive material has a property that the photoconductivity increases as the strength of an electric field applied thereacross increases, and the image recording layer made of such a photoconductive material is uniformly exposed to light simultaneously with or after the irradiation of the radiations.

Method of recording radiographic images

An electrostatic image forming method, which uniformly charging the surface of an electrostatic image forming material comprising (1) surface portions each having an insulating surface and occupying the surface of an insulating support in a patternlike manner and (2) conductive layer portions each having a conductive surface and formed on the remaining areas of the surface of the insulating support in a manner that the conductive layer portions are electrically isolated from the earth: grounding the surfaces of the charged conductive layer portions to the earth so as to remove the charges from the charged conductive layer portions so that the charges in the surfaces of the insulating surface portions remain as the desired electrostatic image.

Electrostatic image forming method

An electrophotographic process comprising (1) arranging (a) a main photoconductive layer disposed on a conductive base, on the surface of which a charge is uniformly provided, and (b) an auxiliary photoconductive layer, disposed on a light transmissive conductive layer on the surface of which is provided charge opposite to that on the main photoconductive layer, to face each other across a small distance, (2) simultaneously forming, by image exposure to the same original from the back of the auxiliary photoconductive layer, electrostatic latent images on both the layers where the product of relative sensitivity ratio and relative exposure ratio of the main photoconductive layer is 2 to 1000 times greater or less than the product of relative sensitivity ratio and relative exposure ratio of the auxiliary photoconductive layer, and (3) thereafter supplying a developer between the layers while still facing each other for developing the latent image on the main photoconductive layer, the developed image reproducing gradations in tone of the original due to the latent image on the auxiliary photoconductive layer.

Electrophotographic process using separate photoconductive elements

A charging device for an electrophotographic apparatus wherein at least a first portion of a control plate is movable relative to a corona generating device. A support member having a photoconductive insulating layer is maintained in spaced relationship relative to the corona generating device. A suitable mechanism is operably associated with the control plate for varying the position of at least the first portion of the control plate relative to the corona generating device to thereby adjust the strength of the corona discharge from the portion of the corona generating device generally adjacent the first portion of the control plate.
