A discharge ring supporting structure of an adjustable-blade axial-flow turbine comprises upper and lower halves separated along a horizontal plane passing through the central axis of the discharge ring. The lower half of the discharge ring is supported by a plurality of supporting columns, each having upper and lower supporting members. The upper supporting members are detachably connected between the lower half of the discharge ring and the lower supporting member. When it is desired to remove the runner, the discharge ring is separated into the upper and lower halves, and the upper supporting members of the supporting columns are removed so that the discharge ring can be lowered. Lowering of the discharge ring allows the runner to be lowered and then removed axially without the runner blades contacting the discharge ring. The upper supporting members of the discharge ring supporting columns are provided with a vibration damper for damping vibration in the discharge ring.

Discharge ring supporting structure of adjustable-blade axial-flow

A runner liner of fluid machine which can be attached and detached to and from the runner of the fluid machine without necessitating the disassembling of the latter. The runner liner can be fitted to a groove which is formed in the periphery of the runner, and is divided into a plurality of segments each of which being so sized that it can be brought into the runner chamber through anyone of the fluid passages coming into and out of the runner chamber. The attaching of the runner liner to the periphery of the runner is made by making use of pockets formed in the head cover and the bottom cover which in combination define the runner chamber.

Runner liner of fluid machine and method of fixing the same

A water intake portion of a hydraulic machine consists of a casing and a speed ring positioned between the casing and guide vanes for guiding water from the casing to the guide vanes. The speed ring consists of a pair of upper and lower flat members of a ring form, a plurality of stay vanes positioned between the aforesaid pair of members for interconnecting same rigidly, and a reinforcing member of a cylindrical form, which is welded to the top surface of the upper flat member between the inner and outer circumferential edges of the upper flat member. Edges defining therebetween an opening of this casing are welded to the top surface of the upper flat member of a ring form, of the speed ring in the position between the aforesaid reinforcing member and the outer circumferential edge of the upper flat member, as well as to the undersurface of the lower flat member of a ring form, respectively. In this respect, the welding of the reinforcing member of a cylindrical form to the top surface of the upper flat member of a ring form is followed by the welding of the edges of the opening of the casing to the upper and lower flat members of a ring form.
