A cosmetic applicator is capable of reliably scooping an appropriate amount of a cosmetic, coming into firm contact with an application area such as a lip, and evenly spreading the cosmetic over the application area. A cosmetic applicatorincludes a substantially flat application memberextending from a tip of a rod-like support memberat an angle &#x3b8;of 0 to 45 degrees with respect to an axial center of the support member, wherein the application memberis formed in a spiral shape in a direction in which the application memberextends, and a flat surface of a front end portion of the application memberis at an angle &#x3b8;of 10 to 120 degrees with respect to a flat surface of a rear end portion of the application member.

Cosmetic applicator

The present invention provides an O/W emulsified composition which contains an organic UV absorber in an oil state such as octocrylene and a solid organic UV absorber, and is excellent in UV protection ability, formulation stability, and feeling in use. The composition according to the present invention is an O/W emulsified composition, comprising: (a) an organic UV absorber in an oil state at 20&#xb0; C., comprising (a1) octocrylene; (b) an organic UV absorber in a solid state at 20&#xb0; C., selected from (b1) bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine and (b2) methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol; and (c) a polyoxyethylene/polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether block polymer represented by formula (1) or (2):RO&#x2014;(PO)-(EO)-H&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)

O/W emulsified composition

An object of the present invention is to provide a mascara applicator capable of being fitted to the curved bases of eyelashes to lift up eyelashes, providing voluminousness to the eyelashes by adhering a mascara to the bases of the eyelashes, widely applying the mascara so that the eyelashes expand in the form of a fan, properly and widely applying the mascara to detailed parts such as the tail and inner corner of the eye, as well as lower eyelashes, and also obtaining an all direction expansion mascara application result. A mascara applicator (), which has a long core member (), and an application part configured by an upper application part () and a lower application part () that are supported by the core member (), extend from the core member to the outside in a horizontal sectional direction, carry a mascara thereon, and apply the mascara to eyelashes, the lower application part being set to be shorter than the upper application part in the horizontal section, wherein a cross section of the upper application part along a longitudinal direction of an axis of the core member is shaped into a series of crests with one and half crests along the longitudinal direction between a base end part and tip part of the core member.
