To provide an optical module that can further be reduced in size, an optical module according to the present invention includes a casing, a light source that is mounted on a first surface of the casing and outputs light, a first reflection means that is arranged at a position facing the light source and reflects the light from the light source to a direction vertical to the first surface, a second reflection means that reflects the light from the first reflection means to a direction parallel to an output direction of the light from the light source, and a transmission means that transmits the light from the second reflection means.

Optical module

A centrifugal compressor comprises: an impeller; an inlet pipe portion forming an intake passage to introduce air to the impeller; and a throttle mechanism capable of reducing a flow passage area of the intake passage upstream of the impeller. When PA is a throttle position where the throttle mechanism minimizes the flow passage area of the intake passage, PB is a tip position of a leading edge of a blade of the impeller, L is a distance between the throttle position PA and the tip position PB of the leading edge in an axial direction of the impeller, and D is a diameter of the impeller at the tip position PB of the leading edge, the distance L and the diameter D satisfy L/D≤0.2.

Centrifugal compressor and turbocharger

A centrifugal compressor comprises: an impeller; an inlet pipe portion forming an intake passage to introduce air to the impeller; and a throttle mechanism capable of reducing a flow passage area of the intake passage upstream of the impeller. The throttle mechanism includes an annular portion configured to move between a first position and a second position upstream of the first position in an axial direction of the impeller. In a cross-section along a rotational axis of the impeller, an outer peripheral surface of the annular portion is formed to smoothly connect a leading edge and a trailing edge of the annular portion.

Provided is a single-fiber bi-directional optical transceiver sub-assembly capable of improving the wavelength separation characteristics of a multiplexing/demultiplexing filter while also attaining a compact size. A single-fiber bi-directional optical transceiver sub-assembly is provided with a housing, an optical receptacle, a multiplexing/demultiplexing filter, a receiving-side photoelectric converter, a transmitting-side photoelectric converter, an isolator, and a collimating lens. The multiplexing/demultiplexing filter is disposed on the optical path between the optical receptacle and the transmitting-side photoelectric converter and on the optical path between the optical receptacle and the receiving-side photoelectric converter. The isolator passes optical signals outputted from the transmitting-side photoelectric converter and blocks optical signals proceeding to the transmitting-side photoelectric converter. The collimating lens is disposed at a position that fits into the external size of the housing, and collimates incident light on the multiplexing/demultiplexing filter.

Single-fiber bi-directional optical transceiver sub-assembly

A pluggable optical connector is configured to be insertable into and removable from an optical communication apparatus, and to be capable of communicating a modulation signal and a data signal with the optical communication apparatus. A wavelength-tunable light source is configured to output an output light and a local oscillation light. An optical transmission unit is configured to output an optical signal generated by modulating the output light in response to the modulation signal. An optical reception unit is configured to demodulate an optical signal received by using the local oscillation light to the data signal. Pluggable optical receptors are configured in such a manner that an optical fiber is insertable into and removable from the pluggable optical receptors, and configured to be capable of outputting the optical signal to the optical fiber and transferring the optical signal received thorough the optical fiber to the optical reception unit.

Pluggable optical module and optical communication system

An impeller includes: a disk-shaped hub centered on an axis; and a plurality of blades arranged in a circumferential direction and protruding from a surface of the hub facing one side in a direction of the axis. In a cross-sectional view including a blade height direction which is a direction away from the hub toward a tip of each blade, the blade has a recessed surface curved convexly toward a rear side in a rotational direction. In the cross-sectional view, when a distance between an imaginary line connecting a tip-side edge and a hub-side edge of the blade and a midspan of the blade along a direction perpendicular to the imaginary line is defined as a recess amount, the blade has a portion where the recess amount increases from a leading edge side to a trailing edge side.

Impeller and centrifugal compressor

A centrifugal compressor includes: an impeller; an inlet pipe portion forming an intake passage to introduce air to the impeller; and a throttle mechanism capable of reducing a flow passage area of the intake passage upstream of the impeller. The throttle mechanism includes an annular portion configured to move between a first position and a second position upstream of the first position in an axial direction of the impeller, and a strut supporting the annular portion. The strut extends toward at least one of an outer side in a radial direction of the impeller or a downstream side in the axial direction of the impeller with an increase in distance from the annular portion.

A first optical transceiver outputs a first optical signal while switching the wavelength of the first optical signal to an optical fiber that acts as a medium for carrying single-fiber bi-directional communication between the first optical transceiver and an opposing second optical transceiver. When the wavelength of the first optical signal is switched to a receivable wavelength, the second optical transceiver identifies the wavelength of the received first optical signal, and outputs the second optical signal having a wavelength determined on the basis of the identification result to the optical fiber. When the first optical transceiver receives the second optical signal from the optical fiber, the first optical transceiver stops switching the wavelength of the first optical signal.

A turbomachinery according to an embodiment includes an impeller including at least one blade, and a casing for housing the impeller rotatably. A size of a gap between a tip of the blade and an inner surface of the casing during a stop of the impeller is formed non-uniformly over a circumferential direction of the impeller.

Pluggable optical module, optical communication system, and control method of pluggable optical module

A vaned diffuser provided on a downstream side of an impeller of a centrifugal compressor. The vaned diffuser includes: a diffuser passage forming portion having a hub-side surface and a shroud-side surface and forming an annular diffuser passage on a downstream side of the impeller; and a plurality of diffuser vanes provided in the diffuser passage at intervals in a circumferential direction of the impeller. A fillet is formed in a connection portion between each of the diffuser vanes and at least one of the hub-side surface and the shroud-side surface. Also, where R is a radius of the fillet and b is a vane height of each of the diffuser vanes, and a maximum value of R/b on a downstream side of a throat position of the diffuser passage is larger than a maximum value of R/b on an upstream side of the throat position of the diffuser passage.

Vaned diffuser and centrifugal compressor

Scroll casing and centrifugal compressor

A centrifugal compressor operable in a wide operation range under a condition accompanied with pulsations of a pressure and a flow rate.
