A thermoplastic, substantially resinous, unsaturated, random copolymer of ethylene, propylene or 4-methyl-1-pentene with a branched 1,4-diene of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is an alkyl group of a maximum of 8 carbon atoms, and each of R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is hydrogen or an alkyl of a maximum of 8 carbon atoms, exclusive of the case where both R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are both hydrogen.
