According to one embodiment, an antenna apparatus comprises an antenna element connected to a feeding point, a grounded first lumped constant element connected to the antenna element, and a grounded second and third lumped constant elements connected to the antenna element through a selector. The selector is configured to connect the grounded second lumped constant element to the antenna element in order to lower a resonant frequency of the antenna element, and to connect the grounded third lumped constant element to the antenna element in order to raise the resonant frequency of the antenna element.

A mobile terminal includes a first antenna configured to receive power from the first circuit board housed in the first housing, a second antenna configured to receive power from the second circuit board housed in the second housing, a first signal cable configured to electrically connect the first circuit board to the second circuit board and transmit a signal between the first circuit board and the second circuit board, and a second signal cable configured to electrically connect the first circuit board to the second circuit board and bypasses a board current flowing through the first signal cable from the first circuit board to the second antenna during operation of the second antenna.

According to one embodiment, an antenna apparatus comprises a first antenna element, a first lumped constant element, a first lumped constant element, a switch and at least one second lumped constant element. The first antenna element comprises a forward part, a folded part and a backward part, the forward part includes a start point connected to a feeding point, and the backward part includes an end point connected to ground. The first lumped constant element is inserted in the backward part. The switch is configured to select a current path in accordance with a control signal. The at least one second lumped constant element is to be selectively connected in parallel to the first lumped constant element through the switch.

According to one embodiment, an antenna device includes a first element, a stub, and an open end element. The first element has a folded monopole structure in which a conductor is folded at a folding portion to form a forward portion and a backward portion. A base end of the forward portion is connected to a feeding point, and a distal end of the backward portion is connected to a ground via a first lumped parameter. The stub is provided between the forward portion and the backward portion of the first element so as to shunt the forward portion and the backward portion. The open end element includes a conductor placed in parallel to the first lumped parameter. A base end of the conductor is connected between the stub of the backward portion of the first element and the ground, and the distal end of the conductor is open.

A radio apparatus including a first housing section, a second housing section and a hinge section is provided. The second housing section is rotatably connected to the first housing section. An antenna device which is connected to a radio module performing radio communications with a system using a first band and a system using a second band, has an antenna element which transmits/receives radio signals in the first and second bands. The antenna device has first and second matching circuits corresponding to the first and second bands, and also disposes a switching circuit between the first and second bands and the radio module. A first filter circuit is connected between the first matching circuit and the antenna element. The first antenna element is configured to be an unbalanced-fed antenna fed at the feeding point to resonate at a first frequency. The second antenna element is configured to be a monopole antenna having an open end and to be fed at the feeding point. The first antenna element and the second antenna element have a common portion from the feeding point to a branching point.
