An intercooler includes a heating portion in which flow path tubes and fins are stacked with each other. A second cooling medium flow path of the flow path tubes is located upstream of a first cooling medium flow path of the flow path tubes with respect to a flow direction of supercharged intake air. The second cooling medium flow path includes a second U-turn portion in which the second cooling medium makes a U-turn. In the second cooling medium flow path, a downstream flow path located downstream of the second U-turn portion is located upstream, in the flow direction of the supercharged intake air, of an upstream flow path located upstream of the second U-turn portion. The fins include a heat exchange limiting portion at least in a part adjacent to a most upstream part, in the flow direction of the supercharged intake air, of the downstream flow path.

Intercooler

An intercooler includes flow path tubes and fins stacked with each other. Cooling medium includes first cooling medium and second cooling medium. A second cooling medium flow path of the flow path tubes is located upstream of a first cooling medium flow path with respect to supercharged intake air. The second cooling medium flow path includes a second U-turn portion. In the second cooling medium flow path, a downstream flow path located downstream of the second U-turn portion is located upstream, in a flow direction of the supercharged intake air, of an upstream flow path located upstream of the second U-turn portion. A heat exchange limiting portion is provided at a position between the flow path tubes and the fins, the position being adjacent to a most upstream part, in the flow direction of the supercharged intake air, of the downstream flow path.

An intercooler includes a heat exchanger that has a first heat exchange portion through which a first heat exchange medium flows and a second heat exchange portion through which a second heat exchange medium flows. The first heat exchange medium flowing through the first heat exchange portion cools the supercharged intake air by exchanging heat with the supercharged intake air. The second heat exchange medium flowing through the second heat exchange portion cools the supercharged intake air by exchanging heat with the supercharged intake air. The heat exchanger includes an inner fin configured to enhance the heat exchange between the supercharged intake air and the first heat exchange medium. The heat exchanger includes a boiling suppression portion configured to suppress a boiling of the first heat exchange medium flowing in an upstream part, in a flow direction of the supercharged intake air, of the first heat exchange portion.

An exhaust heat exchanger has a fin disposed in an exhaust passage in which exhaust air flows in a flow direction and having plate portions. The plate portions respectively have a protruding portion that protrudes from the plate portions. When a direction perpendicular to both the flow direction and a direction perpendicular to the flow direction is defined as a fin height direction, (i) a protruding amount of the protruding portion in a second site is larger than that in a first site, to which the second site is located on a downstream side of the first site in the flow direction, and (ii) a protruding amount of the protruding portion in a third site is larger than that in a fourth site, to which the fourth site is located away from a center portion of the protruding portion than the third site in the fin height direction.

Exhaust heat exchanger

A method for manufacturing a heat exchanger includes: assembling a plurality of heat exchanger components in an assembly step; and forming a film on surfaces of the heat exchanger components using a chemical vapor deposition method in a film formation step after the assembly step. The film can restrict a formation of a through hole due to corrosion. The film can be restricted from being damaged at a delivery or assembling time, because the film formation step is provided after the assembly step. An occurrence of clogging can be restricted at a minute portion inside of the heat exchanger in the film formation step, because the film is formed using the chemical vapor deposition method.

Method for manufacturing heat exchanger, and heat exchanger

An EGR cooler includes a heat exchanging core which has a plurality of tubes, an upstream-side gas tank portion upstream of the tubes and a downstream-side gas tank portion downstream of the tubes. A water tank portion forms a first water passage around the tubes and forms a second water passage around the upstream-side gas tank portion. A double pipe portion forms a gas passage which communicates with the upstream-side gas tank portion and forms an annular water passage which communicates with the second water passage. A water inflow pipe is connected to the double pipe portion such that the cooling water flows into the annular water passage, and a water outflow pipe that is connected to the water tank portion such that the cooling water flows out from the first water passage.

Exhaust gas heat exchanging device

An exhaust gas cooling device, which cools exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine mounted on a vehicle through heat exchange between the exhaust gas and a coolant, includes: a plurality of tubes through which the exhaust gas flows; a tubular shell which houses the plurality of tubes and is configured to allow the coolant to flow therethrough; and a header plate disposed at an end portion in the shell to prevent the coolant from flowing out of the shell. The header plate includes support holes in which end portions of the plurality of the tubes are fitted and supported, and each of axial end faces of the plurality of tubes is located in the corresponding support hole at a position between both ends of the header plate in a thickness direction of the header plate.

Exhaust gas cooling device

An exhaust heat exchanger includes a water tank accommodating tubes and having an outside space defined outside of the tubes, a gas tank having an exhaust passage and an outside space defined outside of the exhaust passage, a dividing portion to separate the outside space of the water tank from the exhaust passage of the gas tank, and a communication portion. The outside space of the gas tank and the outside space of the water tank communicate with each other through the communication portion.

In a refrigerant evaporator, plural tubes made of aluminum are arranged in a laminating direction perpendicular to an air flowing direction, and plural corrugated fins made of aluminum are disposed between adjacent tubes. In the evaporator, when a tube plate thickness TT of the tubes is set in a range of 0.10 mm-0.35 mm and a tube height TH of each tube in the laminating direction is set in a range of 1.5 mm-3.0 mm, pressure loss of refrigerant in a refrigerant passage becomes smaller, and a heat-conductive area of air becomes larger. Further, when a fin height FH of the corrugated fins is set in a range of 4.0-7.5 mm, fin effect of the corrugated fins is improved. As a result, heat-conductive performance of the evaporator is improved.

Refrigerant evaporator

An evaporator includes a flat tube extending in a vertical direction and having a drain groove for guiding condensed water downward, at a middle portion thereof in an air flow direction. A corrugated fin joined to the tube is divided by a gap portion into an air upstream side first fin and an air downstream side second fin. The gap portion faces the drain groove of the tube. Accordingly, condensed water produced at the air upstream side first fin can be smoothly discharged from the evaporator through the drain groove.

Refrigerant evaporator with condensed water drain structure

An evaporator has plural tubes arranged in parallel with each other in a width direction perpendicular to an air flowing direction. The tubes are further arranged in a plural rows in the air flowing direction, and tank portions extending in the width direction are arranged in the plural rows in the air flowing direction to correspond to the tubes. In the evaporator, refrigerant flows through a zigzag-routed refrigerant passage formed by the tank portions and the tubes. A partition wall defining adjacent two tank portions in the air flowing direction has plural bypass holes through which the adjacent two tank portions directly communicate with each other. Therefore, the zigzag-routed refrigerant passage of the evaporator is readily formed without an additional side passage or the like. Thus, the number of components of the evaporator is reduced thereby simplifying the structure of the evaporator, and pressure loss of refrigerant flowing in the evaporator is decreased.

Refrigerant evaporator and manufacturing method for the same

A refrigerant passage of an evaporator, in which refrigerant flows, is divided into plural sub-passages by partition wall portions of inner fins. The partition wall portions have plural louvers for flowing the refrigerant from an air flow downstream side sub-passage to an ajdacent air flow upstream side sub-passage. The louvers are alternately arranged on the partition wall portions with specific intervals in a refrigerant flow direction. Accordingly, refrigerant distributed amounts into the plural sub-passages can be adjusted to correspond to variations in thermal load on an air side.

A core unit of a heat exchanger is composed of a plurality of parallel flat tubes, a plurality of corrugated fins, a support member disposed between two of the corrugated fins and an electric heater disposed inside the support member. The support member has a pair of parallel plates bonded to the corrugated fins at the summits of corrugation of the corrugated fins. The electric heater is composed of a heating element and an insulation member inserted between the heating element and the parallel plates.

Core unit of heat exchanger having electric heater

A condenser for a refrigerant, capable of varying the condensing capacity of the condenser in accordance with a load, so that a condensing pressure larger than a predetermined value is maintained at the condenser when the load is low. The condenser includes a inlet header 15 to which a first inlet conduit 17 is connected at its top location. The inlet conduit 17 is provided with a U-shaped portion 17a and an upright portion 17b. A second inlet conduit 18 is connected to the header 15 at its bottom location. During a high load condition, the high speed of the flow of the refrigerant prevents a lubricant mixed with the refrigerant from being held at the U-shaped portion 17a, so that the gaseous state the refrigerant can pass through the upright portion 17b, so that the refrigerant is introduced into all of heat exchanging tubes 13, thereby obtaining a large area of the heat emission by the heat exchanging tubes 13. During a low load condition, the low speed of the flow of the refrigerant allows the lubricant to be held at the U-shaped portion 17a, so that the gaseous state the refrigerant is blocked at the first inlet conduit 17, so that the refrigerant is introduced only into the heat exchanging tubes connected to the second inlet conduit 18, thereby providing a small area for the heat emission by the heat exchanging tubes 13.

Condenser for refrigerating cycle

A refrigeration system for use in an automotive air conditioner comprises a compressor for compressing vapor-phase refrigerant, a condenser connected to the outlet of the compressor, an expansion valve connected to the outlet of the valve, and a vapor pressure-adjusting valve mounted in the passage extending from the evaporator to the compressor. When the vapor pressure inside this passage is less than a certain value, the adjusting valve reduces the flow of refrigerant from the evaporator to the compressor to maintain the vapor pressure constant. A part of the liquid-phase refrigerant on the downstream side of the condenser is added to the refrigerant evaporated by the evaporator, by means of the adjusting valve.
