An apparatus for remotely controlling electronic equipment such as a VTR using a remote telephone set. The electronic equipment has a timer reservation unit which causes the electronic equipment to start a predetermined operation at a predetermined time in accordance with externally inputted reservation information and to become inoperable after a predetermined period. The timer reservation unit includes an input unit, and a remote controller is coupled to the input unit of the timer reservation unit to perform wireless communication therebetween. The remote controller is constructed such that the reservation information is transmitted to the input unit of the timer reservation unit in response to a predetermined push button operation or dial operation of the remote telephone set.

Remote control apparatus for electronic equipment

A magnetic tape carrier has a supply reel and a take-up reel on which a magnetic tape is wound, a tape guide for guiding the tape from the supply reel to the take-up reel, a first reel mount on which the supply reel is rotatably mounted, a second reel mount on which the take-up reel is rotatably mounted, and a holder for movably supporting the first mount and second mount. The magnetic carrier can thus be used for various magnetic tape apparatus having different distances between the reel drive shafts of the supply reel and the take-up reel.

A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus has a cam driven mechanism for moving a pressure roller from a first position within a cutout recess of a tape cassette and behind the inner side of a magnetic tape to a second position slightly spaced from a tape drive capstan. According to said movement of the pressure roller, a tape drawing pin is moved from an inoperative position within the cutout recess and behind the inner side of the magnetic tape to an operative position where the tape is drawn out of the cassette and brought into a desired tape path so as to be engaged with a magnetic head which is stationarily mounted on a base plate of the apparatus. The pressure roller is further moved to a third position in which it is pressed against the tape drive capstan by a solenoid mechanism upon energization thereof so as to move the tape.

Magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus

A guide drum apparatus for a video tape recorder and/or player has: a main shaft secured on a chassis, a first guide drum rotatably mounted on the main shaft and having a plurality of magnetic video heads, driving means for rotating the first guide drum at a rotational speed greater than the speed of movement of a tape, and a second guide drum mounted on the main shaft coaxially with the first guide drum and rotatable independently therefrom. The first and second guide drums have tape guiding portions, respectively, which are opposed to each other and have peripheral tape guide surfaces to guide the magnetic tape. Adjusting means is mounted on the main shaft so as to adjust the height of the video heads with respect to the tape guiding portion of the second guide drum. With this guide drum apparatus, the height of the video heads can be adjusted precisely and easily to trace the video track on the tape even while the video heads are rotating at a high speed.
