A paper-made staple binds a sheet bundle subjected to folding processing by a folding blade and a folding roller. The paper-made staple includes a pair of leg portions inserted into the sheet bundle and then bent inward; and a connection portion that connects the leg portions in a staple longitudinal direction. The connection portion has, at an edge portion thereof, a cut in a direction crossing the longitudinal direction so as to correspond to a predetermined folding position of the sheet bundle for the purpose of facilitating the folding of the connection portion, and the cut is formed inward from the edge portion so as to have a substantially triangular shape and is provided on both edge portions of the connection portion of the paper-made staple.

A sheet processing device that bonds sheets to one another and then folds a resultant sheet bundle. The sheet processing device includes a stacker section that sequentially stores sheets moved thereto, an adhesive-binding unit that applies an adhesive onto sheets sequentially stored in the stacker section one by one in a sheet moving direction to bond the sheets to one another, a moving member that moves the sheets to an application position of the adhesive-binding unit, and a folding processing section that folds a sheet bundle formed by the bonded sheets at a predetermined folding position. The present invention is to provide a sheet bundle binding device capable of easily removing some sheets from a sheet bundle that has been subjected to staple-free binding. A corner Sc of a first sheet bundle which is accumulated on a processing tray is subjected to proper binding using a staple needle by a staple binding unit. Then, a corner of a second sheet bundle obtained by accumulating additional sheets on the first sheet bundle is pressed and deformed between crimping toothed parts of a staple-free binding unit to temporarily bind the second sheet bundle. Thus, the additional sheets can easily be removed from the second sheet bundle.

Sheet bundle binding device and image forming system having the same

A sheet post-processing device includes a conveying section that conveys a paper sheet; a punch section that punches punch holes in the paper sheet conveyed by the conveying section; a stacker section that stores the paper sheet in which the punch holes are punched by the punch section; a binding section that binds a paper sheet bundle stored in the stacker section with a binding member; and a controller that controls the above sections. The controller selectively performs a ring binding mode and a direct binding mode. The ring binding mode is a mode in which punch holes are punched in the paper sheet by the punch section and then the binding member is made to penetrate the punch holes for binding. The direct binding mode is a mode in which the binding member is directly driven into the paper sheet bundle without punching the punch holes in the sheet.

The present invention is to provide a sheet processing device including: a receiving tray capable of accommodating therein a sheet having, at a part thereof, a protruding portion and a sheet not having the protruding portion in a mixed state; a first binding member that binds the accommodated sheet bundle at a substantially center thereof in a sheet conveying direction; a folding section that folds the sheet bundle bound by the first binding member in two; and a second binding member that binds protruding portions of the sheet bundle folded by the folding section on a fore edge side of the sheet bundle. With this configuration, the fore edge side of the folded and saddle-stitched sheet bundle can be bound by temporary binding. Thus, a sheet processing device capable of ensuring the security of a saddle-stitched sheet bundle can be provided.

In order to enable a press-bound sheet bunch to be easily peeled away from press teeth, the present invention is to provide a sheet bunch processing apparatus with a needleless binding apparatus which includes a pair of press tooth members where a plurality of press teeth extending in a ridge-line direction is formed parallel, presses a part of a sheet bunch between the pair of press tooth members, and thereby performs press binding processing, and with a peeling mechanism which applies a force in a direction substantially parallel with the ridge-line direction of the press teeth to the sheet bunch, and thereby peels the sheet bunch subjected to the press binding processing away from the press teeth of the press tooth members.

The present invention is to provide a sheet bundle binding device having both a staple binding unit and a staple-free binding unit, capable of performing binding in two stages of proper binding and temporary binding so as to obtain a desired binding force and to easily remove some sheets from a bound sheet bundle. A binding control section determines, based on user's settings, whether or not to perform first binding in which a first sheet bundle Sbis subjected to the proper binding using the staple binding unit or staple-free binding unit and determines whether or not to perform second binding in which a second sheet bundle obtained by accumulating additional sheets on the first sheet bundle is subjected to the temporary binding using the staple-free binding unit so as to control binding forces with which the first and second sheet bundles are bound.

A sheet processing device performs saddle stitching binding a bundle of stacked paper sheets, and includes a stacker section temporarily stacking conveyed paper sheets substantially vertically; a stopper regulating the paper sheets stacked in the stacker section; a first binding section provided in the stacker and saddle-stitching a paper sheet bundle regulated by the stopper at a binding position around a center of the paper sheet bundle in a sheet conveying direction; a folding section folding in half the paper sheet bundle regulated by the stopper; and a conveying section conveying the paper sheet bundle that has been folded in half by the folding section with a back side of the folded paper sheet bundle as a leading end in the conveying direction. The conveying section includes a second binding section binding the folded paper sheet bundle at the back side thereof.

A sheet processing device performs saddle stitching binding a bundle of stacked paper sheets, and includes a stacker section temporarily stacking conveyed paper sheets substantially vertically; a stopper regulating the paper sheets stacked in the stacker section; a first binding section provided in the stacker and saddle-stitching, with a metallic staple, a paper sheet bundle regulated by the stopper at a binding position around a center of the paper sheet bundle in a sheet conveying direction; a second binding section saddle-stitching, without using the metallic staple, the paper sheet bundle being regulated by the stopper at the binding position around the center of the paper sheet bundle in the sheet conveying direction; and a folding section folding in half the paper sheet bundle regulated by the stopper at a folding position at which the paper sheet bundle is bound by the first binding section or second binding section.

A sheet processing device includes: an adhesive-binding unit that applies an adhesive onto sheets stored in a stacker section one by one and adhesive-binds the sheets; a staple-binding unit that staple-binds sheets accumulated in the stacker section by means of staples; and a folding mechanism section having a folding roller that folds the adhesive-bound or staple-bound sheet bundle in two at a binding position of the adhesive-binding unit or staple-binding unit and a folding blade that pushes the bound sheet bundle into the folding roller. A folding speed of the folding mechanism section for the sheet bundle bound by the adhesive-binding unit is lower than a folding speed for the sheet bundle bound by the staple-binding unit; thereby, productivity of the folding processing is improved and occurrence of the peeling-off or break during the folding processing is reduced.

A sheet folding apparatus includes a retract path that is positioned on the upstream side of a stacker section for collecting sheets and that branches off from a transport path to enable a sheet carried in the stacker section to be transported in a direction opposite to a carry-in direction, an adhesion unit that is positioned in a junction position of the transport path and the retract path to bond sheets by applying an adhesive, a staple binding unit that binds sheets collected in the stacker section with a staple, and a folding processing section that folds sheets bound with the unit. The retract path is a path for retracting an application position of the preceding sheet with the adhesive applied, in carrying a next sheet in the stacker section, and the staple binding unit is disposed in the stacker section between the adhesion unit and the folding processing section.

A sheet post-processing device includes a conveying section that conveys the paper sheet, a punch section that punches punch holes in the paper sheet conveyed by the conveying section, a stacker section that stores the paper sheet in which the punch holes are punched by the punch section, a stopper section that regulates a conveying direction leading end of the paper sheet stored in the stacker section; a binding section that binds the paper sheet bundle whose leading end is regulated by the stacker section, and a folding section that folds the paper sheet bundle bound by the binding section at a predetermined folding position. A sheet post-processing device includes a stacker section that temporarily stores paper sheets as a paper sheet bundle, a stopper that regulates a carrying-in direction leading end of the paper sheet carried into the stacker section, a binding section that binds the paper sheet bundle regulated in position by the stopper, and folding rollers and a folding blade that perform folding processing for the sheet bundle bound by the binding section at a predetermined folding position of the paper sheet bundle. The binding section binds the paper sheet bundle with a paper-made staple. The stopper sets a position of the paper sheet bundle such that a binding position of the paper-made staple straddles the predetermined folding position. With this configuration, there can be provided a sheet-post processing device capable of folding the staple together with the paper sheet bundle.

To provide a sheet processing device that performs saddle stitching processing that binds a bundle of stacked paper sheets at a position around a center thereof and then folds in half the paper sheet bundle at the binding portion, the device being capable of selectively performing both saddle stitching using a metallic staple and saddle stitching not using the metallic staple for environmental protection and capable of reducing a size. A sheet processing device includes a stacker section that temporarily stacks conveyed paper sheets in a substantially vertical attitude, a stopper that regulates the paper sheets stacked in the stacker section, a first binding section that is provided in the stacker and saddle-stitches, with a metallic staple, a paper sheet bundle at a binding position around a center of the paper sheet bundle in a sheet conveying direction, a second binding section that saddle-stitches, without using the metallic staple, the paper sheet bundle at the binding position around the center of the paper sheet bundle in the sheet conveying direction, and a folding section that folds in half the paper sheet bundle.
