In a rotary stencil printing press including a rotary screen cylinder which supports a screen printing form and is supported rotatably, and a squeegee which is located within the rotary screen cylinder and, when printing is done, contacts an inner peripheral surface of the screen printing form to transfer ink stored within the rotary screen cylinder to a web via holes of the screen printing form and, when printing is stopped, leaves the inner peripheral surface of the screen printing form, throw-on and throw-off of the squeegee with respect to the inner peripheral surface of the screen printing form, and adjustment of the position of the throw-on are performed by motors.

A rotary screen printing press includes, a rotary screen cylinder which supports a screen printing form and is supported rotatably; an impression cylinder which is provided to oppose the rotary screen cylinder, and is supported rotatably; and a squeegee which is located within the rotary screen cylinder and, during printing, contacts an inner peripheral surface of the screen printing form, while being pressed against it, to transfer ink stored within the rotary screen cylinder to a material to be printed, which is held on the impression cylinder, via holes of the screen printing form. The printing press has a squeegee throw-on and throw-off control device which controls the pressing force of the squeegee acting on the inner peripheral surface of the screen printing form during printing in accordance with the type and thickness of the material to be printed.

An intaglio printing press includes, a rotary screen comprising a hollow cylinder, which has a small hole group for special ink supply formed in a circumferential surface of the hollow cylinder and which is supported rotatably, and a squeegee contacting an inner peripheral surface of the hollow cylinder, a rubber roller supported rotatably to oppose an outer peripheral surface of the hollow cylinder at a position where the squeegee contacts the inner peripheral surface of the hollow cylinder, and a sheet supplied with special ink, which has been stored within the hollow cylinder, by the squeegee via the small hole group of the hollow cylinder. The intaglio printing press further includes special ink guide means, such as guide grooves, for guiding a surplus of the special ink, which is not supplied to the sheet by the squeegee, to the small hole group of the hollow cylinder.

A roller holding apparatus of a printing press comprises roller arms swingably supported by a metal roller, holders swingably supported by the roller arms for holding a rubber roller so as to be detachably mounted on the roller arms, and pressing members provided in the holders for pressing the rubber roller against the metal roller. The roller holding apparatus can perform roller replacement easily and quickly with a simple structure, and can always retain a set nip pressure.

A paper guide apparatus of a perfecting press is disclosed. The perfecting press comprises a blanketed impression cylinder which has a holding device for holding paper and prints one side of the paper, and a blanket cylinder which is in contact with the blanketed impression cylinder and prints the other side of the paper. The blanketed impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder are arranged nearly horizontally. In the paper guide apparatus, suction chambers for sucking and guiding the paper transported by the blanketed impression cylinder are provided between a transfer cylinder located directly ahead of the blanketed impression cylinder and the blanket cylinder, and an air nozzle is provided for blowing air between the paper transferred from the transfer cylinder to the blanketed impression cylinder and the circumferential surface of the blanketed impression cylinder. The paper guide apparatus prevents trouble in printing, such as doubling or smudging, due to a touch of the paper to the circumferential surface of the cylinder before a printing pressure is applied.
