A printed wiring board includes one or more substrates, the one or more substrates including at least a first substrate, the first substrate being formed with a pad and a ground layer at any one of main surfaces of the first substrate, the pad being to be electrically connected to a connector as another component, the ground layer being formed to surround the pad from a circumference of the pad and have an inner edge at a location separated from an outer edge of the pad with a predetermined distance, the ground layer being to be grounded to a ground contact.

Printed wiring board

The plug connector includes contacts and a block. The contacts are arranged on both sides of the block, and the block is formed at longitudinal ends with projection walls. The receptacle connector includes contacts and a housing. The contacts are arranged on both sides of the block to be opposite to each other in the width direction, and the housing is provided with engaging protrusions engaging the anchoring recess. The housing is further provided between the contacts longitudinally arranged with side walls A higher than upper surfaces of elastic portions of the contacts and with side walls B continuous with the side walls A and higher than upper surfaces of contact portions of the contacts. The plug contacts and the receptacle contacts are brought into contact with each other only after the plug connector and the receptacle connector have been completely fitted with each other.

Electric connector

A connector includes contacts and an insulator. Each contact includes a contact portion, a first fixed portion, an elastic portion substantially in the form of a crank, a second fixed portion and a connection portion. The insulator includes a fixation block to which the second fixed portions are fixed, and a movable housing to which the first fixed portions are fixed. The movable housing is fixed only to the contacts and held by the elastic portions in a floating condition away from the bottom surface of the fixation block. The fixation block has a wall for preventing short circuit when the connector is being mounted on a substrate. A floating amount of more than 0.7 mm can be achieved with a simple construction without causing short circuit with a substrate when the connector is being fitted with a mating connector and without causing any failed connection.

Connector

An optical attenuator with increased dynamic range and reduced temperature-dependence over the dynamic range. The optical attenuator has a Faraday rotational angle variable device which applies an external magnetic field to light polarized by a garnet crystal, and a polarizer and an analyzer disposed at the front and rear of the optical axis of the device. There is an angle x formed between the plane of polarization of the light incident to the garnet crystal and the magnetic field orthogonal to the optical axis, where an angle y is formed between the polarizer and the analyzer, and the angle x is set to satisfy {(&#x2212;z/2)+90&#xd7;n}&#x2212;12&#x3c;x&#x3c;{(&#x2212;z/2)+90&#xd7;n}+12 (n=0, 1, 2 or 3), where z=y&#xb1;90; z is the angle of rotation of the plane of polarization caused by the Faraday rotational angle variable device.

Optical attenuator

A reflection-type variable optical attenuator comprises: a main attenuator unit including a first birefringent crystal plate, a Faraday rotational angle varying unit, and a second birefringent crystal plate arranged in this order; an input port and an output port that are arranged on a side of one end of the main attenuator unit; and a two-point reflection-type optical path varying reflector that is arranged on a side of the other end of the main attenuator unit. Light that comes in from the input port makes a round trip in the main attenuator unit and goes out through the output port.

Reflective variable light attenuator

Optical devices including a Faraday rotation devices improved in wavelength and temperature characteristics and an optical attenuator reduced in wavelength dependence and temperature-dependent loss. The Faraday rotation device has permanent magnets magnetized in an axial direction of through-holes, and Faraday elements having a same Faraday rotation direction with respect to a same magnetization direction. The permanent magnets are directed in the same magnetization direction along an optical path, where part of the Faraday elements are accommodated in the through-hole of the permanent magnet, and the remaining Faraday elements are arranged between the magnets, whereby the Faraday elements are to be applied by magnetic fields in opposite directions. For a device variable in Faraday rotation angle, an electromagnet is provided. An input fiber collimator and polarizer are provided on an input side of with the Faraday elements while an analyzer and output fiber collimator are on an output side.

A variable optical attenuator is disclosed which comprises a plane-parallel birefringent element for separation/synthesis which separates light beams having orthogonal polarization directions on the same optical path, the birefringent element synthesizing light beams on different optical paths; a light converging lens disposed adjacent to the birefringent element for separation/synthesis; a reflecting mirror disposed at a focal point of the lens opposite to the birefringent element for separation/synthesis with respect to the lens; a variable polarization rotating device; and an input port and an output port which are disposed at the end of the birefringent element for separation/synthesis; the variable polarization rotating device being disposed at any position between the birefringent element for separation/synthesis and the reflecting mirror, the variable polarization rotating device controlling the rotational angle of the polarization direction of incident light beams from the input port, to thereby control the amount of reflected output light to the output port.

Variable optical attenuator

The present invention is provided for considerably shortening the construction time of a building that is applied to nuclear power plants. When constructing the building, megablocks having a height that extends to a plurality of floors are produced, and together with combining those megablocks, concrete is poured inside them to form a wall member composed of a megawall structure of steel plate reinforced concrete construction. Alternatively, in addition to the wall megablocks, floor megablocks for forming the floor member of the building are used, and together with combining those megablocks, concrete is poured inside or above them to form a structural member (wall member and floor member) composed of a megawall structure of steel plate reinforced concrete construction.
