In a method for manufacturing an organic EL display panel including: preparing a substrate; forming pixel electrodes in a matrix of rows and columns; forming banks extending in a column direction at least between the pixel electrodes in a row direction; forming a first light emitting layer by applying an ink including a light emitting material in a first gap selected from a plurality of gaps between the banks; forming a second light emitting layer by a vapor deposition method to be continuous above both the first light emitting layer and the pixel electrodes in a second gap adjacent in the row direction to the first gap; and forming a counter electrode above the second light emitting layer, a height of portions of the banks adjacent to the second gap is made to be greater than a height of portions of the banks adjacent to the first gap.

Method of manufacturing organic EL display panel, organic EL display panel, and organic EL display device

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display area, a first peripheral area, an organic insulating film. The display area is provided on a substrate and includes a plurality of organic electroluminescent (EL) elements aligned. The first peripheral area is provided on the substrate, around the display area. The organic insulating film is provided on the substrate and covers a circuit including a drive circuit driving the organic EL elements. The organic insulating film comprises a first groove provided in the organic insulating film, around the display area, in an area between the display area and the first peripheral area, and a dummy area to which at least one of functional materials of the organic EL elements is applied, on the first peripheral area.

Display device

An apparatus for manufacturing an organic electroluminescence display having an alignment chamber for aligning a mask having openings corresponding to a predetermined pattern with a substrate on which a first electrode layer is formed and detachably attaching the mask and the substrate. The apparatus further including a number of vacuum processing chambers for sequentially forming a number of organic material layers on the substrate attached with the mask. The apparatus also including a transfer robot for transferring the attached mask and substrate to one of the number of vacuum processing chambers and sequentially transferring it between the number of the vacuum processing chambers.

Apparatus and method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescence display

A support substrate having the same size as a device substrate provided with alignment marks is disposed opposite to and adhered to the back side of the device substrate. At least the face side of the device substrate on the support substrate is cut at division lines along a functional region. An organic film is formed on the functional region of the device substrate thus cut. The support substrate is cut along the functional region of the device substrate, thereby removing peripheral portions of the support substrate and the device substrate, to form a display panel. Positioning of the substrate relative to a manufacturing apparatus for each step can be performed with high accuracy, in the manufacturing process including a step of cutting the substrate to a smaller size in the course of manufacture.

Method of manufacturing display apparatus

For a load connected to the connection points of first and second mechanical bypass switches connected to first and second power supply systems, respectively, and a semiconductor switch connected in parallel with the second bypass switch, the power supply is switched from the first power supply system to the second power supply system, the first bypass switch is opened, and a semiconductor switch conducts whereby current through the first bypass switch is commutated to flow through the semiconductor switch, and then the second bypass switch is closed, whereby the load is switched and connected to the second power supply system.

Power supply system switching device and method of switching between power supply system

A power transfer device includes a first current transferring section connected between a first AC power source and a load, a second current transferring section with first and second switches which have opposite conduction directions, connected in parallel, and connected between a second AC power source and the load; a current detector for detecting a current flowing from the first AC power source to the load; a generator for generating a power transfer signal instructing transfer from the first AC power source to the second AC power source; a current direction estimator for estimating the direction of a current which flows from the first AC power source to the load when the second current transferring section enters the conduction state after a time period; and a conduction signal generator for causing one of the first and second switches to be conductive, so that the current flowing from the first AC power source to the load is cancelled, and, thereafter, causing the other of the first and second switches to be conductive.

Power transfer device

A PWM inverter system which eliminates a switching loss and minimizes the distortion ratio of the output voltage thereof. The PWM inverter system includes a first means for producing switching signals for 3-phase modulation by which switching elements for each phase make a switching operation, a second means for producing switching signals for 2-phase modulation by which a switching operation for one phase is unnecessary, and a change-over for changing over the two means in response, for example, to a magnitude value of the inverter output voltage.
