A paper feeding apparatus for the printer having an intermittent mechanism between a driving motor and both a paper feed roller and a platen. The intermittent mechanism allows both the platen and the paper feed roller to rotate simultaneously and also allows only the platen to rotate while the paper feed roller is suspended, so that a sheet of printing paper is set straight along the platen. When the rotational direction of the driving motor is reversed to reverse that of the platen, the driving motor stops rotating for a limited period. Under such conditions the sheet is fed properly in response to the rotation of the platen, being free from the inertia force of the sheet and from the platen's vibration.

Paper feeding apparatus for printer

A paper feeder for a printer in which a paper separator roller 15 is rotatably provided in the end portion of a paper holder 12 so that when a paper feed roller 14 is rotated in the paper feed direction, the paper separator roller 15 is arranged to stop at a predetermined position and act similarly to a conventional friction pad, while when the paper feed roller 14 is rotated in the paper return direction, the paper separator roller 15 also rotates in synchronization with the above rotation. By way of vibrating the paper separator roller 15 in the rotational direction or another direction, paper sheets P stacked on the paper holder 12 are vibrated for the purpose of being successively moved in the portion at which the two rollers 14 and 15 are positioned in contact with each other. As a result of this structure, the paper feeder of the printer according to the present invention can be prevented from local abrasion of the paper separator roller 15 causing papers to be fed in an overlap manner, and stop of paper feed can be prevented, and papers can be assuredly fed one at a time to the printing mechanism portion 1.

Paper feeder for a printer

A paper feeding apparatus for a printer comprises a control means and a drive mechanism for feeding a sheet of paper to a predetermined printing position on the platen. The control means activates the drive mechanism for a predetermined period until a paper detective sensor near the platen detects a leading edge of the sheet. If the paper detective sensor detects no sheet after the predetermined period, a control means repeats the paper feed operation without requiring the operator to give a subsequent driving signal.

A paper feeding apparatus for a printer, comprising feed rollers to feed sheets of paper in a direction across a line of printing, a paper stacker holding the sheets in a stack and movable between an advanced and a retracted position, a biasing device for biasing the paper stacker toward its advanced position to urge a top sheet of the paper stack into contact with the feed rollers, a manually operated member movable between a first and a second position, a retract-and-latch device for moving the paper stacker to the retracted position against a biasing force of the biasing device and locking the paper stacker at the retracted position when the manually operated member is moved from the first to the second position, and an unlatch device for releasing the retract-and-latch device to allow the paper stacker to return to the advanced position when the manually operated member is moved toward its first position. Also disclosed is a pressure adjusting device for adjusting the biasing force of the biasing device depending upon a specific kind of the sheets on the paper stacker.

Paper feeding apparatus

A paper feeding device for a printer having a first paper handling assembly including rollers for feeding sheets of paper of one kind from a first paper stacker along a first inlet path to a printing assembly of the printer, and a second paper handling assembly including a second stacker for receiving the printed sheets from the first stacker, and supported by a support member pivotally between first and second positions. The support member carries at least one paper guide which is pivotable between its first and second positions according to pivotal movements of the support member. In the first position, the paper guide defines a paper exit path opening through which the printed sheets are guided into the second stacker. When the paper guide is pivoted to its second position, it closes the paper exit path opening. The feeding device further comprises a member or members defining a second inlet path adjacent the second paper handling assembly when the support member is in the second position. The second inlet path leads to the printing assembly to load sheets of paper of another kind to the printing assembly when the feeding device is inoperative, and an amount of initial advancement of the paper to the printing assembly is changed when the inoperative position of the feeding device is detected.

Paper feeding device for a printing apparatus providing alternatively

A paper loading apparatus for a printer wherein sheets of paper are moved by a paper feeding device to a printing device to effect printing on the paper. The apparatus comprises a paper stacker for storing a stack of the sheets of paper, a feed roller engageable with the top of the paper stack and rotatable for feeding along a first paper path the individual sheets in one direction from the paper stacker toward the paper feeding device, a controller for controlling the paper feeding device such that the sheets of paper fed from the paper stacker are first moved in the above one direction into the printing device and subsequently moved in a reverse direction opposite to the above one direction, and a guiding device for guiding the sheet of paper moving in the reverse direction along a second paper path in which the sheet of paper is free from engagement with the feed roller.
