The quality and quantity of clothes to be washed are measured with a detecting unit, the measured values are referenced to cloth quantity and quality Fuzzy functions to control the strength of wash current, wash time, and rinse time so as to be suitable for the quantity and type of clothes to be washed.

Controller for operation of washing machine

An apparatus and a method for controlling a washing machine. The washing machine control apparatus includes a mechanical timer and a controller including a microcomputer. The mechanical timer has a plurality of cam switches for controlling the steps of washing, rinsing and dehydrating by the washing machine, and the cam switches are actuated so as to open and close a feed water valve and a drain valve and to instruct the control to drive a drive motor according to a selected operation pattern. The controller controls the drive motor and drives a washing tube through an agitating member and includes a memory for storing a plurality of motor operation patterns corresponding to the washing, rinsing and dehydrating steps, so that the drive motor is driven according to an operation pattern controlled by the mechanical timer and stored in the memory of the controller.

Apparatus and method for controlling a washing machine

A washing machine includes a washing and water-extracting tub, agitating blades disposed rotatably in the tub, a motor for rotating the tub or the agitating blades and a control unit for controlling operation of the motor and determining a quantity of clothes on the basis of a resistance of the clothes exerted on the agitating blades by the rotation of the agitating blades. The washing machine determines the quantity of clothes plural times while a water level is changed from a low water level to a high water level and makes calculation on the basis of the plurality of determination values to determine a kind of clothes or the quality of cloth so that the washing operation is controlled on the basis of the quantity of clothes and the determined quality of cloth.

Controller of a washing machine

In a full-automated washer, a cloth amount sensor detects a quantity of an object being washed which is thrown into a washing drum as a value inclusive of information regarding a degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed. A processing circuit included in the full-automated washer is responsive to a detection output signal from the cloth amount sensor to determine a water supply amount, a cleanser feed amount, a stirring time and a rinsing time. The cloth amount sensor is mounted to a stirring motor. Upon an OFF-state of the motor, the detection output signal is generated by measuring a voltage waveform induced by inertial motion which varies in accordance the degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed.

Full-automated washer

A full automatic washing machine having a washing/drying cell rotatably mounted in an outer cell, a rotary blade unit provided on the bottom of the washing/drying cell and provided with a cylindrical member mounted thereon, and a washing machine motor adapted to rotate the blade unit in forward and backward directions during washing and rinsing and, to rotate the washing/drying cell at a high speed in one direction during drying. The ratio of the outside diameter of the rotary blade unit to the inside diameter of the washing/drying cell is selected to range between 0.6 and 0.8. The speed of rotation of the rotary blade unit is selected to fall within the range of between 100 and 250 rpm. The time length of rotation of the washing machine motor in each of forward and backward directions is selected to be less than 1 second.

Full automatic washing machine

A washing machine is disclosed in which water is poured on the washing within a washing and dehydrating tank through a water supply port while turning the washing and dehydrating tank slowly, to thereby cause the water to sink into the washing before the normal washing thereof so as to reduce the bulk of the washing or prevent the floating of the washing. Thus, the regular agitating and washing of the washing are well performed.

Washing machine

In a fully-automated washer, a cloth amount sensor detects a quantity of an object being washed as a value inclusive of information regarding a degree of bulkiness of the object to be washed.
