A particle beam therapy apparatus has a position and posture setter that moves a movable body, that is at least one of the irradiation nozzle and the treatment table. A movement path of the movable body is determined when adapting the positional posture of the movable body from one condition among a plurality of prescribed conditions to another condition. An evaluation value is obtained for adapting the positional posture of the movable body to each of a plurality of prescribed conditions. This evaluation value is for a case of moving the movable body according to the movement path. A setting order is determined for adapting the positional posture of the movable body to each prescribed condition based on the evaluation value; and the positional posture of the movable body is adapted to each of the plurality of prescribed conditions by moving the movable body according to the determined movement path.

Particle beam therapy apparatus and control method thereof

A treatment bed arranged in a tip direction of an irradiation nozzle and constructed movably, a treatment information system that manages prescription data, a treatment control system that receives a target position stored in the treatment information system to cause a main display system to display the target position, a pendant to input a movement command for the treatment bed, the main display system that receives the target position of the treatment bed from the treatment control system and displays an actual position of the treatment bed, and a patient positioning support system that calculates correction values for the target position thereof to provide the correction values to the treatment control system and the pendant are included, wherein the treatment control system sends the target position thereof to the treatment information system at a period shorter than an operation sequence thereof and stores initial values to be sent in advance.

An object of the present invention is to provide a particle beam treatment system that can realize the reduction of treatment time for a specific patient, compared with treatment time in a conventional type. A control unit of a control system controls a beam routing system and irradiation devices so as to maintain the occupation of an accelerator when a certain treatment room of plural treatment rooms once occupies the accelerator except intentional operation to release the occupation of the accelerator or the occurrence of system failure.
