A planetary carrier includes: a first plate and a second plate which pivotally support planetary gears between opposing plate surfaces of the first and second plates such that the planetary gears are located on a circular path so as to be spaced apart from each other, the circular path being a path of rotational centers of the planetary gears; and coupling plates which are located between the opposing plate surfaces, are spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction of the circular path, couple the first plate and the second plate, and are coupled to external members at positions away from the planetary gears in the circumferential direction. The coupling plates are coupled to the external members at an outside of the circular path in a radial direction. Each of the coupling plates is coupled to the first plate and the second plate only at a first side in the circumferential direction.

A lubrication device for a helicopter including: an oil sump in which oil for lubrication is retained; a lubrication pump configured to suck the oil from the oil sump to discharge the oil; and a lubrication passage extending from the lubrication pump to a first lubrication target. The lubrication passage includes: a first supply port that supplies the oil to the first lubrication target; an oil reservoir provided upstream of the first supply port; and an opening provided upstream of the oil reservoir and above the oil reservoir. In a toroidal continuously variable transmission including at least one transmission unit including: an input disc and an output disc disposed coaxially; and a power roller tiltably interposed between the input disc and the output disc and configured to transmit a driving force from the input disc to the output disc, an integrally rotating member disposed so as to be spaced apart in an axial direction from at least one disc of the input disc and the output disc of each transmission unit and configured to rotate together with the at least one disc, and an annular interposed member provided between the at least one disc and the integrally rotating member and configured to rotate together with the at least one disc, are provided, and the interposed member is formed with a balance adjustment portion capable of adjusting weight balance in a circumferential direction.

Toroidal continuously variable transmission

In a continuously variable transmission including: a first transmission unit including a first input disc and a first output disc disposed coaxially and a power roller tiltably interposed between these discs; and a second transmission unit disposed coaxially with the first transmission unit, including a second input disc and a second output disc disposed coaxially and a second power roller tiltably interposed between these discs, and disposed such that a back surface of the second input disc is opposed to a back surface of the first input disc, a tubular back surface cylinder wall is provided on each of the back surfaces of the first input disc and the second input disc so as to project therefrom.

An electric power generating device () capable of suppressing an increase of a frontal surface area of an aircraft engine includes a transmission () connected with a rotary shaft () of the engine (E), an electric power generator () driven by an output of the transmission (), an input shaft () having a shaft axis extending in a direction crossing the rotary shaft () and connected with the rotary shaft (), and a transmitting mechanism () connected with the input shaft () to drive the transmission () about an axis extending in a direction perpendicular to the input shaft (). The transmission () and the electric power generator () are disposed spaced a distance from each other in a direction circumferentially of the rotary shaft ().

Generating device for aircraft

To provide an aircraft engine in which an accessory can be directly supported with no accessory gearbox intervening to thereby suppress an increase in size thereof, the aircraft engine (E) includes a take-out shaft () having a first end portion, connected with an engine rotary shaft () and extending in a radially outward direction, and also having a second end portion connected with an accessory (), and a mounting pad () provided in an engine main body (EB) and to which the accessory () is fitted. The mounting pad () forms an outer perimeter of an opening () through which the take-out shaft () extends. The opening () is sealed by a covering (), through which the take-out shaft () extends, and a sealing member () to seal between the covering () and the take-out shaft ().

Sealing arrangement of accessory to aircraft engine

An outboard motor includes a case extending generally vertically and supported on a hull. An engine is supported at an upper end of the case. A propeller is supported by a lower end of the case. A drive shaft is supported within the case for rotation about a generally vertical axis. The driveshaft has an upper end operatively connected to the engine and a lower end operatively connected to the propeller. An upper portion of the case includes an elongate extruded portion having substantially the same cross-sectional shape along its length.

Outboard motor

An outboard drive includes a prime mover having an output shaft. A driveshaft is coupled with the output shaft. Both shafts having axes that extend at least generally parallel to each other. A propulsion device is coupled with the driveshaft. The prime mover rotates the output shaft to drive the propulsion device through the driveshaft. A speed change mechanism is positioned between the output shaft and the driveshaft. The speed change mechanism changes a rotational speed of the output shaft transmitted to the driveshaft.

Outboard drive with speed change mechanism

An outboard motor includes a bracket assembly that has a swivel bracket carrying a drive unit for pivotal movement about a steering axis that extends generally vertically. The swivel bracket has a tubular section that extends generally vertically. The drive unit has a steering member that includes a steering shaft section extending through the tubular section and defining the steering axis. The steering shaft section has top and bottom portions out of the tubular section. The steering shaft section further has an upper portion below the top portion within the tubular section, and a lower portion above the bottom portion within the tubular section. The tubular section has upper, lower and middle bushings. The upper and lower bushings pivotally support the upper and lower portions, respectively. The middle bushing pivotally supports a middle portion of the steering shaft section between the upper and lower portions.

Outboard motor with bracket assembly

An outboard motor includes an engine. A cowling body defines an internal cavity in which the engine is enclosed. A partition member divides the internal cavity into a first cavity and a second cavity. The first cavity communicates with outside through a first opening for introducing ambient air into the first cavity. The second cavity encloses the engine therein. The partition member has a second opening through which the air in the first cavity moves to the second cavity. The cowling body and the partition member are made of a nonferrous metal. The partition member is adhered to the cowling body.

An outboard motor includes a drive unit and a bracket assembly mounting the drive unit on an associated watercraft. The bracket assembly includes a swivel bracket that carries the drive unit for pivotal movement about a steering axis that extends generally vertically, and a clamping bracket that supports the swivel bracket and the drive unit for pivotal movement about a tilt axis that extends generally horizontally. Either the swivel bracket or the clamping bracket, at least in part, has a first flange, a second flange spaced apart from the first flange, and a web that extends between the first and second flanges to connect together the first and second flanges. The first and second flanges extend generally parallel to the tilt axis. The web extend generally normal to the tilt axis.
