A three direction changeable device comprises first forks and second forks. The first forks are disposed to selectively obstruct the movement of bank notes in a first direction. The second forks are disposed to selectively obstruct the movement of bank notes in a second direction. Each first fork is associated with a second fork and is disposed adjacent thereto to define therebetween a path for bank notes in a third direction when the first forks and second forks obstruct the movement of the bank notes in the first and second directions, respectively.

Herein disclosed is a reception control system for use with a paper counting machine, which is intended to prevent the excessive reception of the sheets of paper due to the delay in the reception control timing. The reception control system includes a reception sensor for instantly sensing each of the sheets of paper received, an up-down counter unit having the functions of up and down counters for counting up the number of the sheets of paper received in accordance with the output of the reception sensor and subtracting the number of the sheets of paper to be excluded from the number of the sheets of paper counted up thereby to correct the number of the sheets of paper received, and a reception control comparator unit for comparing the output of the up-down counter unit and the output of a reference number memory unit thereby to compare the number of the sheets of paper corrected and the output of the reference number memory unit so that a drive control unit may be controlled to control the reception of the sheets of paper in accordance with the compared result.

A roll of coin wrapping paper includes streak portions which extend in the width direction of the paper and are arranged at a predetermined pitch in the longitudinal direction of the paper. The streak portions are formed by making such portions thicker than the other portions of the paper. The thicker portion is made by applying printing ink to the paper. Alternatively, the streak portion may be formed by making a series of perforations in the paper.

An improved coin accumulator assembly is provided, which comprises a main accumulator tube adapted to receive and accumulate therein a pre-set number of coins and a subsidiary accumulator tube disposed upstream of the main accumulator tube and adapted to receive and accumulate temporarily the coins counted during the early stage of counting operation when the main accumulator tube is involved in the coin delivery operation and hence cannot receive any coins. The coins temporarily accumulated in the subsidiary accumulator tube are collectively passed to the main accumulator tube when the latter is released from the coin delivery operation and restored to its normal coin receiving condition. By the use of the coin accumulator assembly of the invention, the time period used for counting the coins included in one cycle operation of the coin wrapping machine can be increased to improve the efficiency or the coin feeding rate may be lowered to make it possible to control the coin counting operation more precisely and more reliably.

There is provided a compact and simple dispenser for dispensing envelopes each containing a predetermined number of paper sheets such as bank notes and being positively guided by perforations formed at the marginal side or sides of the envelopes. A series of envelopes is housed and stocked in a container unit of the dispenser while being folded one on another to form a train of envelopes which are cut off along the folded lines and then dispensed individually under the control of the central control center. The dispenser of the invention comprises the container unit which has a lock, and a dispensing unit having a cavity for receiving the container unit and a locking device for releasingly locking the lock of the container unit until a signal instructing disassembly of the container unit from the dispensing unit is received. The dispensing unit is further provided with a gearing mechanism to be coupled with the positive feeding mechanism of the container unit to drive the latter so that a single envelope is conveyed and fed to the dispensing unit.

The register apparatus includes a key input device for successively entering commodity prices and the amount of money received from a customer by a keying operation; a note identifying device for identifying the denomination of the note received from the customer; an arithmetic control device adapted to add said commodity prices and to calculate the sum of said amount of money entered through said key input device and the amount of money identified by said note identifying device, said arithmetic control device being further adapted to compare the sum of said commodity prices and said sum of money with each other to calculate the amount of change; a display device adapted to display said sum of said commodity price, said sum of money received from the customer and said amount of said change; and a memory device adapted to memorize said sum of said commodity price, said sum of money received from the customer and said amount of said change. The note identifying device may include a device for detecting oblique orientation of the note. The note identifying device may further include a device for detecting the pattern of the note.

A suction head is provided in a paper sheet counting machine in which a number of paper sheets contained in a container box are vacuum-sucked one at a time to be taken out of the container box and be counted. The suction head has a suction port into which a suction port member is threaded. The suction port member is integral with a suction contact member made of a rubber which contacts a paper sheet to be taken out.

A coin packaging machine where a predetermined number of coins accumulated in columnar form in an accumulating cylinder are supported by a supporting rod. A packaging paper is wrapped around the periphery of the columnar assembly of accumulated coins and both ends of the paper are folded and clamped (per amendment) rod is used for supporting accumulated coins not only for guiding of the accumulated coins from the accumulating cylinder to the packaging zone but also supporting of the accumulated coins in the packaging zone during rotation of the accumulated coins. An apparatus for binding paper sheets, characterized in that a pair of confronting gripping plates are disposed above a paper sheet supporting plate, a groove for a tape and a groove for a tape application lever are formed on the inner faces of the gripping plates, respectively, paper sheets gripped by both the gripping plates are moved toward the side of the tape application lever to bend a binding tape inserted in the tape groove of the gripping plate in the direction of the thickness of the paper sheets, the binding tape is pressed by the tape application lever to insert the binding tape into the groove for application lever to surround the paper sheets, and the surrounding end of the tape is bonded to the other side of the tape to effect binding of the paper sheets.
