A rotating electrical machine includes a stator having a stator core, coil groups, and a rotor. The coil groups include a first coil group located at an outer circumference side of the stator core and a second coil group located at an inner circumference side of the stator core. The first and second coil groups are formed into an annular shape by inserting unit coils into stator core slots so that the coils adjacent in a circumferential direction overlap alternately in a radial direction and so that an inside and an outside of the overlap alternate with each other. The first coil group is disposed to surround an outside of the second coil group. The first and second coil groups are disposed in a concentric manner. The unit coils constituting the second coil group have shorter circumferential lengths than the unit coils constituting the first coil group.

Rotating electrical machine and method of manufacturing the same

A rotating electrical machine includes a stator and a rotor rotatably mounted on the stator. The stator includes a plurality of slots into which coils are insertable, a plurality of types of unit coils inserted into the slots at slot pitches differing for every type of unit coil, and a plurality of coil groups formed by arranging the unit coils in a lap winding so that the unit coils are overlapped in a radial direction of the stator. The coil groups have the same arrangement configuration before insertion into the slots and are inserted into the slots so as to be shifted from each other by a predetermined slot pitch.

According to one embodiment, a measuring system using an optical waveguide is provided. The measuring system has an optical waveguide, magnetic fine particles, a magnetic field applying unit, a light source and a light receiving element. The optical waveguide has a sensing area to which first substances having a property of specifically bonding to subject substances to be measured are fixed. Second substances having a property of specifically bonding to the subject substances are fixed to the magnetic fine particle. The magnetic field applying unit generates a magnetic field for moving the magnetic fine particles. The light source inputs a light into the optical waveguide. The light receiving element receives the light output from the optical waveguide.

A permanent magnet motor includes a stator core including a core portion and chip portions each formed of dust core, a stator having a coil wound on the stator core and a rotor. The core portion includes steel plates stacked and secured to one another and an annular path portion and salient pole portions. The chip portions are attached to distal ends of the salient pole portions respectively, each chip portion having at least one axial end axially protruding from an axial end of each salient pole portion and one or more radially extending protrusions. The salient pole portions are magnetically routed by the path portion. The salient pole portions have distal end sides formed with recesses capable of accommodating the protrusions, respectively. The protrusions are accommodated in the respective recesses so that the chip portions are attached to the core portion.

Permanent magnet motor

A washing machine includes a water tub, an electric motor, and a control device. The motor comprises a stator including a stator coil, a rotor magnet arranged circumferentially with respect to the rotor, and a control device. The rotor magnet includes a permanent magnet. When the control device applies a first voltage to the stator coil in a wash step of the washing operation, the rotor magnet is magnetized so that a magnetic flux of the rotor magnet acting on the stator is increased without reversal of a direction of magnetization. When the control device applies a second voltage to the stator soil in a dehydration step of the washing operation, the rotor magnet is magnetized so that a magnetic flux of the rotor magnet acting on the stator is reduced without reversal of a direction of magnetization as compared with the magnetic flux in the wash step.

Washing machine

An inverter device provided on a washing machine for controlling a permanent magnet motor being provided with a rotor magnet including a first permanent magnet and a second permanent magnet having a level of coercivity smaller than the first permanent magnet. An excitation current is produced to vary the amount of magnetism of the second permanent magnet to execute a dehydrate operation with a magnetic flux of the rotor magnet reduced and to execute an operation being specified to operate at a lower maximum rotation count compared to the dehydrate operation with the magnetic flux of the rotor magnet increased. When the amount of magnetism of the second permanent magnet is varied while rotation of the permanent magnet motor is stopped, a phase of the excitation current for varying the amount of magnetism is switched depending on a rotation stop position of the rotor.

A permanent magnet motor includes a rotor and a plurality of permanent magnets located inside a rotor core. One or more of the permanent magnets having relatively smaller coercive forces have a first magnetic characteristic that when a magnetizing magnetic field is caused to act on the permanent magnets, a magnetic susceptibility is substantially at 0 until reaching an inflection point during magnetization, and when exceeding the inflection point, the magnetic susceptibility enters a loop approximating to the hysteresis loop in a first quadrant, and a second magnetic characteristic that when a demagnetizing magnetic field is caused to act on the permanent magnets, a magnetic susceptibility is substantially at 0 until reaching the inflection point during demagnetization, and when exceeding the inflection point, the magnetic susceptibility enters a loop approximating to the hysteresis loop in a second quadrant.

A permanent magnet motor includes a rotor core having magnetic pole faces including first to third faces. The first face is formed on a peripherally central part and has a peripherally uniform width of the gap. Each of the second and third faces is formed on both peripheral ends respectively and has a width of a gap rendered larger as each of the second and third faces comes close to a boundary between magnetic poles. The first face ranges from &#xb1;15 degrees to &#xb1;35 degrees in electrical angle about a center of the magnetic pole and has such a circular arc shape that the gap width is increased by about 10% relative to a minimum gap width.

An electric motor includes a rotor and a stator including a plurality of unit cores each of which has two ends. The unit cores are disposed so that the ends of each unit core are adjacent to the ends of the neighboring unit cores respectively. Each unit core includes a yoke section and a plurality of salient poles which are integral with the yoke section and on which windings are wound respectively. A permanent magnet motor includes a rotor having a permanent magnet and a stator core having circumferential teeth the number of which is 2n where n is an integer equal to or larger than 2, the teeth including first teeth the number of which is n and second teeth the number of which is n, the first and second teeth being circumferentially regularly disposed alternately. Each first tooth has a head with an end face opposed to the rotor and formed generally into the shape of an arc about a center of rotation of the rotor so that an air gap defined between said end face and a surface of the rotor opposed to said end face is circumferentially uniform. Each second tooth has a head with an end face opposed to the rotor and shaped so as to be gradually departed farther away from an opposite surface of the rotor as the head extends from its circumferentially central portion toward both circumferential ends.

A washing machine includes a hollow tub shaft mounted on a first stationary portion of the machine for rotation, a rotatable tub rotatably mounted on an upper end of the tub shaft, an agitator shaft concentrically inserted in the tub shaft for rotation, an agitator mounted on the upper end of the agitator shaft, a stator fixed to a second stationary portion of the machine to be concentric with the agitator shaft to constitute an electric motor together with the stator, and a clutch including a holder mounted on the tub shaft for rotation with the tub shaft. The clutch further includes a first engagement portion formed in a third stationary portion of the machine, a second engagement portion formed in the rotor, a lever mounted on the holder to be selectively engaged with one of the first and second engagement portions, the lever operatively coupling the rotor to the agitator shaft when engaged with the first engagement portion, the lever operatively coupling the rotor to both of the agitator and tub shafts when engaged with the second engagement portion, and toggle type springs holding the lever in engagement with the first and second engagement portions respectively.
