A device for distributing a poly-phase mixture having a gas phase and liquid phase which mixture is in downflow mode through at least one bed of granular solid. The device has at least one tray (P) located above one of the beds of granular solid. It further has mixer conduits () for the liquid and gas phases, each conduit having an upper cross section for flow () allowing the passage of the majority of the gas phase, and a lower cross section for flow () allowing the mixture formed inside the conduits to communicate with a bed of granular solid. The mixer conduits () also having one or more lateral cross sections for flow () over at least a portion of their height to allow the passage of the liquid phase and possibly a minor portion of the gas phase inside the mixer conduits. The device also has a jet breaker type dispersive system () having a controlled porosity disposed below the lower cross section for flow () and above the bed of granular solids. The distribution device being such that at least a portion of the perimeter of the dispersive system is provided with rims () or ().

The distributor includes a device for adding or removing a secondary fluid. A process for the synthesis of essentially linear saturated C.sub.5.sup.+ hydrocarbons from a gas phase comprising synthesis gas is described. The process comprises circulation of an inert liquid phase and said gas phase in a reaction zone, in which the reaction zone is provided with at least one means for introducing gas and liquid phases, and at least one means for extracting the hydrocarbon phase formed by the Fischer-Tropsch reaction, and characterized in that the reaction zone comprises at least one mixing means. The invention concerns a reactive distillation process carried out in a reactive distillation zone which includes at least one catalytic zone flanked by two distillation zones, the vapor from the distillation circulating from bottom to top so as to be in practically no contact with the catalyst, and the liquid circulating from the upper distillation zone (5) to a substantially central zone at the bottom of the catalytic zone without contacting the catalyst, then circulating radially below the catalytic zone via at least one means (20) so as to be introduced into a liquid distribution zone (23), then circulating through the catalytic bed (8) in the catalytic zone, following which the liquid is recovered via at least one liquid overflow means (19) in a lower distillation zone (14). The invention also concerns an apparatus for reactive distillation.
