A head-mounted display includes a front having a display housing and a back having a rear housing. A first member extends between the front and the back and is adjustable via an actuation of a first rotatable actuator and a first cabling mechanism. A second member extends between the front and the back and is adjustable via an actuation of a second rotatable actuator and a second cabling mechanism. A third member extends between the front and the back and is adjustable via the actuation of the second rotatable actuator and a third cabling mechanism.

Adjustable head-mounted display

A head-mounted display (HMD) includes various features that allow for customizing the HMD to different users. The HMD may include an interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment mechanism that includes a double biasing assembly for smooth, controlled adjustment of the spacing between lens tubes. The HMD may include a field of view (FOV) adjustment mechanism that includes first and second gear assemblies connected via a connecting rod to allow uniform adjustment of the spacing between the lenses and the user's face. The HMD may further include a swappable face gasket, a swappable visor, a removable head strap, and a modular accessory compartment for further customizations to the HMD. The HMD may further include inconspicuous spectrum-transmissive windows that are made with a spectrum-transmissive base material for the HMD housing that is coated with a spectrum-opaque material, and the spectrum-opaque material is selectively removed to create the spectrum-transmissive windows.

Adjustable head-mounted display to accommodate different head and face sizes

Various embodiments relating to a large-format touch display having a continuous touch surface that is flat and free from visual defects are disclosed. In one embodiment, a display assembly includes a display stacking including a cover sheet having an exterior surface and an interior surface opposing the exterior surface and an image-emitting layer secured to the interior surface, a carriage assembly configured to hold the display stack in a fixed position in the display assembly, and a plurality of fastener pucks positioned adjacent a perimeter of the interior surface of the cover sheet and securing the carriage assembly to the interior surface of the cover sheet via a curable adhesive.

Large-format display assembly

A release agent application system includes an image receiving member, a release agent applicator roller, a release agent pad, a release agent reservoir, and an actuator. The actuator operates the release agent applicator roller to move it between a resting position, where the roller absorbs release agent from the pad, and an application position, where the roller engages a surface of the image receiving member and to transfer release agent to the image receiving member.

A printer architecture that enables a printer (or other media processing device) with an elongate foot print to be configured with media input and operator controls oriented at either a narrow end or a wide side thereof, that surface becoming the 'front' of the unit. Controls and/or display(s) are mounted such that either the end or side orientation can be accommodated. The media input tray includes a separate assembly so that selection of the tray with access to end or side complements the user control panel in establishing the front of the machine. The combination of control/display mounting and oriented media tray structure integration with the print engine to establish which of the printer surfaces is considered the front allows for multiple orientations of the printer and greater flexibility to the customer.

A solid ink stick transport system has been developed that differentiates between ink sticks inserted into a single insertion port of an inkjet printer. The system includes a solid ink support platform that moves between a position exposed outside of a printer housing to receive solid ink sticks and a position within the housing. The support includes a sensor that enables a controller to identify the solid ink stick before transporting the solid ink stick to an appropriate feed channel.

An ink collecting system has been developed to direct ink purged from a printhead positioned above an ink collecting tray along a stepped flow path into the ink collecting tray. The stepped flow path enables the purged ink to flow from a faceplate on the jet stack, around a junction, onto a lower surface of the jet stack, and to a curved lower flange of a reservoir housing, which directs the ink away from the faceplate before the ink drops into the ink collecting tray for disposal or reuse.

In an inkjet printer, an ink reclamation apparatus receives ink emitted from at least one printhead. The ink reclamation apparatus includes an ink receptacle and a liquid path member that extends from the ink receptacle to contact the face of at least one printhead proximate to a plurality of inkjets in the at least one printhead. The liquid path member draws liquid ink from the plurality of inkjets and the liquid ink enters the ink receptacle. The ink reclamation apparatus returns the ink to a reservoir in the printhead and reduces or eliminates wasted ink during operation of the at least one printhead.

An ink reclamation receptacle receives ink purged from an inkjet printing apparatus. Ink in the reclamation receptacle wets a porous membrane positioned in the reclamation receptacle, and flows into a flow channel. Negative pressure applied to a port that is placed in fluid communication with the flow channel withdraws ink from the flow channel for use in the inkjet printing apparatus, while ink wetting the pores in the membrane resists a flow of air into the flow channel.

An ink recirculation system has been developed to enable controlled release of ink collected in an ink receptacle into a printhead. The ink receptacle includes an indentation in a substantially planar surface and is configured to receive ink in the indentation from a printhead. The indentation has a shape that enables the ink receptacle to release ink at varying rates as a pivot angle of the ink receptacle is varied by a positioning system. The shape of the indentation enables the receptacle to dose ink into an ink reservoir in the printhead at known rates to control the amount of ink recycled to the printhead.

An ink level sensing system that exhibits good sensitivity is described herein. The system includes a first probe having a first active surface, a second probe having a second active surface facing the first active surface, a memory in which data indicative of a conductivity curve and command instructions are stored, and a processor configured to execute the command instructions to associate a level of fluid in a reservoir with a first signal indicative of the electrical coupling between the first active surface and the second active surface with reference to the data indicative of a conductivity curve.

Fluid level sensing system and method

An inkjet printing apparatus is provided with a one-way valve to enable a single conduit to supply ink to an ink reservoir and withdraw purged ink from a receptacle into the ink reservoir. A bi-directional pump is operated in both directions in an alternating manner to withdraw ink from the receptacle when supplying the ink reservoir with ink.

Method and system for ink delivery and purged ink recovery in an inkjet printer

An ink recirculation assembly for an inkjet printer recovers purged ink for recycling. The ink recirculation assembly includes a porous pad configured to absorb ink from a printhead face by capillary action. The porous pad is operatively connected to an actuator, which is configured to move the porous pad to contact the printhead face to absorb ink from the printhead face. The actuator is further configured to move the porous pad to contact a heated member, which releases ink from the porous pad and enables the ink to flow into an ink receptacle for recycle or disposal.

A system controls application of heat with a melt plate to an ink stick in a solid ink imaging device. The system includes a melt plate, a heater configured to heat the melt plate to a temperature sufficient to melt solid ink, a feed channel configured to direct solid ink sticks towards the melt plate to enable a leading edge of a solid ink stick to be melted by the heated melt plate, and a controller configured to separate the heater and the leading edge of the ink stick by a distance that arrest melting of the ink stick.
