Disclosed are various embodiments that facilitate sending input commands to an application over a network that may have variable latency characteristics. A first computing device sends a request to initiate a remote session with the application being executed by a second computing device. Upon initiation of the remote session, the first computing device receives application output data associated with the application for display via the first computing device. The first computing device may capture an input command associated with a video frame of the application output data being displayed. The input command is transmitted to the second computing device. To account for latency characteristics associated with the network, the second computing device provides the input command to the application after a delay.

Sending application input commands over a network

A game distribution platform includes a game submission interface through which a developer can submit a game. In some embodiments, when a developer submits a game using a game submission interface, the game distribution platform generates a loader for the game. The loader, when downloaded by a gaming device of a user, enables the gaming device to load the game from the platform, and to access player profiles that include game progress data. The loader may be distributed via one or more game portals.

System for providing access to game progress data

An application is executed in a hosted environment in one or more computing devices. A user may experience difficulty in the application at a particular point in the application. Input commands may be obtained from a stored past session of the application. The stored past session of the application may correspond include another user successfully completing the particular point in the application. The input commands may be provided to the application to help the user get past the difficulty.

Enhancing user experience by presenting past application usage

Disclosed are systems, methods and devices for improving audio processing and playing multiple sounds using fewer resources. Various implementations may create audio files, in some cases from a single sample of a type of sound, where the files represent specific quantities of that type of sound, such as 10 footsteps or 1000 claps. Given a desired target number of sounds to play, various implementations determine an appropriate combination of the employable audio files to represent the desired number of sounds, and play or render the combination as an approximation of the desired target number of sounds. By using single audio files that represent and sound like multiple instances of a specified type of sound, the various implementations use significantly fewer computing and audio resources than playing an equivalent number of audio files each of which contains a single instance of the specified type of sound.

Systems and methods for playing multiple sounds

In certain embodiments, computer systems and methods are provided that allow a game distribution platform to distribute, update and/or control copies of games published across multiple game portals. In some embodiments, copies of the games are maintained in data storage on the game distribution platform and distributed to game portals and/or gaming devices. Additional content for purchase may also be stored on the data storage and available for purchase during a gaming session. Advantageously, in certain embodiments the game distribution platform enables game portals and/or gaming devices to receive the latest version of a game and/or a player's purchased content when a player selects to play the game.

Cross device operation of games

An access control technology is described. Ownership control information is stored for an object in a computing system. Access control to objects in the computing system is based in part on accounts having ownership control of objects in the computing system. A first account with ownership control of the object is identified. Ownership control of the object is changed to a second account upon detection of a first security event. Ownership control of the object is restored to the first account upon detection of a second security event using the stored ownership control information.

Access control

This application describes, in part, system and methods for controlling access to a device, application or service available through a device. In some implementations, an access request may be received and a three-dimensional representation of an object presented on a display of the device that allows a user to provide a three-dimensional input pattern. The input pattern may traverse multiple surface areas of the graphical representation of the three-dimensional object and in some instances the graphical representation of the object may rotate as the input pattern is received. The input pattern may then be verified and access to the device either granted or denied.

Controlling access to a device

Various embodiments enable additional content or features to be displayed to a user in response to detecting one eye of the user being closed either as a wink or for a duration of time. In one example, the additional content is graphical overlay, such as a menu containing selectable graphical elements to perform functions related to an application, game, or content, of global navigational features of the computing device in general, or to alternate views, features, or supplemental content for an application or game currently being displayed on a computing device. In one example, the overlay may be displayed only as long as the user keeps one eye closed or, alternatively, the user could wink to display the overlay and provide some other input to remove the overlay.

Disclosed are various embodiments that facilitate sending input commands to an application over a network that may have variable latency characteristics. An input command may be obtained from a client over a network. The obtained input command is then provided to the application that is executed in a hosted environment. When a delay is determined to be necessary based at least in part on latency characteristic, the input command is provided to the application after the delay.

Past usage of an application is presented in order to enhance the experience of a user with an application. An application is executed in a hosted environment in one or more computing devices. Input commands may be obtained from a client and provided to the application. A real-time state of the application may be recorded as the application is executed in the hosted environment. The real-time state of the application that has been recorded may be replayed.

Disclosed are various embodiments that reduce video encoding latency for remotely executed applications. An application is executed in response to a client request. A video frame generated by the application is obtained before the video frame is sent to an external port of a graphics device. The video frame is encoded into a compressed video stream. The compressed video stream is sent to the client.

Reducing latency for remotely executed applications

A computing device can track a gaze direction of a user of the computing device. In some embodiments, gaze tracking can be performed using at least one front-facing camera of the computing device. The computing device can determine a position on a display of the device that corresponds to where the user's gaze is directed. The computing device can display content that is decipherable (i.e., readable, legible, recognizable, understandable, non-scrambled, unobscured, etc.) at the position on the display that corresponds to the user's gaze direction. The computing device can scramble at least some content that is displayed at a position(s) on the display other than the position at which the user's gaze is directed.

Display security using gaze tracking

Approaches are described for generating an audio signal that mimics speech captured a computing device. An input audio signal (e.g., a speech signal) can be transformed from the time domain into another domain, to generate one or more audio signal segments, where each segment can correspond to a window of time. The device can then determine, for each audio signal segment, a feature characteristic of the audio signal, such as a phoneme. Each one of segments can be mapped, based at least in part on the respective feature characteristic, to a model audio signal. The device can then generate an output audio signal including each model audio signal as determined by the mapping, where the output audio signal is in a sequence associated with the input audio signal.
