In order to reduce service procedure time and labor costs, while increasing overall uptime, the electrical equipment cabinet of the invention includes a main service door that is integrated with the dead front. The dead front panel is fixed to and movable with the main service door, and therefore access to high voltage equipment situated behind the dead front is achieved by simply opening the main service door, without the need to first unlock and open the main service door and then unlock, open, and/or remove the dead front panel. Controls on the front side of the dead front are easily and safely accessible, when the main service door is closed, through a dead front control access door positioned within an opening of the main service door.

A PDU enclosure defines a transformer compartment for receiving a transformer. The PDU enclosure includes a first side bulkhead and a second side bulkhead positioned adjacent to each other as viewed on a plane. The first side bulkhead and the second side bulkhead limit access to the transformer compartment from the front. The first side bulkhead defines an opening to the transformer compartment and is spaced from the second side bulkhead by a gap. The PDU enclosure further includes a removable access panel. The removable access panel includes a first portion removably coupled to the first side bulkhead and that covers the opening in the first side bulkhead, and a second portion extending at an angle relative to the first portion and removably coupled to the second side bulkhead. The second portion also covers the gap between the first side bulkhead and the second side bulkhead.

A splice connector for a busway system utilizes individual connectors made of a conductive material and having a u-shaped cross-section that fit over ends of a pair of busbars to be connected to each other, and within which are mounted multi-contact louvers that extend the length of the connectors to establish a low impedance electrical connection between the connector and the respective busbars. The louvers are secured in place by a dovetail groove that retains the louvers within the connectors and causes the individual contact sections of the louvers to bow outwardly so as to press against the busbars when the connector is fitted over the busbars. The connectors are snapped into insulative housing halves or sections that align the connectors with the busbars, and that provide isolation between horizontally aligned pairs of connectors.

A planar insulator board provides separate between vertically-aligned pairs of busbars when the connectors are fitted over the busbars and the insulative housing sections are aligned and secured to each other. Spacers may be utilized to enable different sized u-shaped connectors to fit within a standard insulative housing.
