A surfactant composition selected from the group consisting of: (RO)CH&#x2014;CH[(OCHCH)OH]&#x2014;CH(OR) and mixtures thereof; wherein at least one of R1 and R2 are secondary alkyl groups including from 3 to 9 Carbon atoms; an aqueous coating composition including an aqueous polymeric dispersion; and certain other compositions including the surfactant composition are provided. Also provided is a method for forming a coating.

Surfactant compositions and use for aqueous compositions

The present invention provides nonionic surfactants, compositions incorporating these surfactants, and related methods of making and using such surfactants and compositions. The nonionic surfactants demonstrate excellent equilibrium and dynamic surface tension properties as well as excellent wetting properties. Further, representative embodiments of the surfactants have shown low foaming characteristics, indicating that the surfactants would be suitable in applications where resistance to foaming is desired. The surfactants can be used singly or in combination with other nonionic and/or ionic surfactants as desired. As an over view, the nonionic surfactants of the present invention have a structure in which the surfactant backbone includes one or more amine moieties. At least one, preferably two or more branched, cyclic, fused cyclic, and/or spyro hydrophobic moieties are pendant from at least one of the amine moieties. Additionally, at least one, preferably two or more hydrophilic moieties, preferably alkylene oxide (i.e., polyether) chains also are pendant from at least one of the amine moieties.

Nonionic surfactant compositions

A composition including an ethylene blocking agent complex formed from the product of an ethylene blocking agent and a host, and at least one water-soluble polymer, wherein the ethylene blocking agent complex and the at least one water-soluble polymer are intermingled is disclosed.

Aqueous coating compositions including phenylphenol ethoxylate surfactants

Provided are compositions containing a compatible mixture of a cationic surfactant and an anionic surfactant. A composition according to the invention comprises: (a) a first surfactant of formula I: wherein R, R, R, and RY, X, and n are as defined below; (b) a second surfactant that is oppositely charged to the first surfactant.

Sulfonate surfactants and methods of preparation and use

The invention provides, in one embodiment, a device for performing scrub testing on a plurality of samples simultaneously, including a plurality of scrubbing devices. A stage is provided which positions the plurality of samples in contact with the plurality of scrubbing devices. The scrubbing devices can individually be provided with different weights to produce different forces on the samples. A motion producing device produces one or both of linear and rotational motion between the brushes and the samples. The scrubbing devices are held in the stage so as move freely vertically.
