Cosmetic compositions having durable gloss, such as cosmetic lipcolors, are provided. The compositions comprise a gel formed from a cellulosic polymer and a polar oil, a non-polar film-forming agent, polyhydroxystearic acid, and optionally one or more pigments. The compositions may have one or more properties selected from long-wear, oil transfer resistance, water transfer resistance, comfort, and durable shine.

Mascara compositions containing a keratin conditioning agent, alone or in combination with an emollient/moisturizing agent, provide increased resistance of eyelash hair fibers to breaking. Low viscosity mascara composition of the invention containing low concentrations of surfactant and wax are easily removable from the eyelashes. Mascara compositions of the invention reduce eyelash damage and though having low viscosity (as compared to typical prior art compositions) surprisingly provide excellent buildup, lengthening and wear.

Mascara composition

There is provided a cosmetic gel. The gel has a multiplicity of colored fibers; one or more gellants; a film former different than the gellant if need for the gel to dry to a smooth film; and one or more liquid vehicles. The gel is substantially translucent, preferably transparent, and has a viscosity of about 100,000 cps to about 300,000 cps. The colored fibers are dispersed within the gel. The cosmetic gel dries to a dry, smooth film upon topical application. There is also a method for imparting color to the skin, hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes.

There is provided a gel composition having a silica powder and a non-volatile compound. The silica powder particles are spherical and porous. The silica powder has a specific gravity about 0.09 to about 0.6, and is present in an amount about 10 wt % to about 50 wt %. The non-volatile compound is present from about 35 wt % to about 90 wt %. The composition has less than about 5 wt % water. There is also provided a method for imparting a powdery feel to the skin, and a method for treating a cosmetic or medical condition of the skin, nail/cuticle, lips or hair.

Gel composition and methods of use

There is provided a moisturizing cosmetic stick that moisturizes, has good wear, and full and even coverage. The stick comprises: about 1% to about 35% by weight water, about 0.1% to about 8% by weight of a gelling agent, about 1% to about 5% by weight of an emulsifier, about 5% to about 10% by weight of a hard wax, about 5% to about 25% by weight of a lipophilic polar solvent, about 1% to about 5% by weight of a clay, and about 5% to about 30% by weight of a bulking agent. The present invention is also directed to a process for making such a moisturizing stick.

Cosmetic stick

There is provided a cosmetic composition, preferably in the form of a lip gloss composition, that is smooth, glossy, and wear resistant. The composition has an oil or liquid ester and a gel, and optionally, one or more waxes, one or more pigments, and one or more emollients.
