Rubber mixtures containing sulfur-containing organosilicon compounds

A copolymer rubber includes, based on a total amount of 100% by weight of all monomer units, &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-ethylenically unsaturated nitrile units, conjugated diene units, and &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid monoester units selected from the group consisting of methoxyethyl (meth)acrylates, and polyethylene glycol (meth)acrylates. The rubber has a glass transition temperature lower than &#x2212;20&#xb0; C., an oil swelling of not more than 20 vol %, and provides a balance of good low-temperature stability and oil resistance.

Copolymer rubber containing nitrile groups

A silica-containing rubber mixture is produced from a rubber, a sulphur-containing alkoxysilane, a crosslinking agent, a silica-containing filler, and 0.1 to 15 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the rubber, of a silicon-free polysulphide additive of the formula (I)A-S-(S)-S-Bwhere x is 0-4, and A and B are the same or different, are alkyl or aryl, and contain at last one oxygen, which may be in the form of a carboxyl group.

A silica-containing rubber mixture includes at least one rubber, a sulphur-containing alkoxysilane, a crosslinking agent, a filler, and optionally further rubber auxiliaries, and the mixture also includes from 0.1 to 15 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of rubber used, of a silicon-free polysulphide additive of the formula (I)A-S&#x2014;(S)&#x2014;S&#x2014;Y&#x2014;S&#x2014;(S)&#x2014;S-A&#x2003;&#x2003;(I)where x is 0, 1 or 2, Y is an optionally substituted or heteroatom-containing aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic group, and A may include hydroxy, carboxy, or carboxyphenyl groups.
