A method and system is provided that enables generation of messages for various types of card activated terminal devices such as automated teller machines. Automated teller machines operate responsive to a variety of ATM message formats. The transaction processing system may generate ATM messages one of the ATM message formats using information associated with the ATM message format that is stored in a data store. The transaction processing system may include among its software components a message gateway router (MGR) which is operate to use information stored in the data store to convert messages from an internal message format to a variety of external message formats used by the automated teller machine.

Card activated automated teller machine and method

A system includes a plurality of machines that operate responsive to data bearing records such as user cards (). The machines operate to carry out financial transactions with associated host computers () responsive to determinations that card data corresponds to computer stored data corresponding to authorized users or accounts. Marketing presentations are stored on and output from the machines responsive to messages exchanged with a market message server () which is connected to the machines. Systems can also distribute and activate instructions corresponding to states and screens logic on the machines to determine operation.

Banking system operated responsive to data bearing records

A financial transaction processing system () enables processing transactions from various types of card activated terminal devices () which communicate using a variety of electronic message formats. The transaction processing system may operate to authorize transactions internally using information stored in a relational database () or may communicate with external authorization systems (). The transaction processing system includes among its software components message gateway routers (MGRs) () which operate using information stored in the relational database to convert messages from a variety of external message formats used by the external devices and authorization systems, to a common internal message format used within the system. The system further uses database information to internally route messages to message processing programs (MPPs) () which process messages and generate messages to the external devices and authorization systems. The MGR also converts the outgoing messages from the internal message format to the external message formats which can be interpreted by the external devices and systems to which the messages are directed.

Financial transaction processing system and method

An automated banking machine includes a card reader operative to read data from user cards and to use the data read by the card reader in operation of the machine. Status messages are received from automated banking machines operating in a network. The messages are received by an event management system operating at least one computer in operative connection with a data store. The data store includes information representative of the banking machines in the network, status messages generated by the banking machines and actions to be taken including entities to be notified of conditions which cause status messages to be sent by the various banking machines.

Fault monitoring and notification system for automated banking machines

A marketing system includes a plurality of automated transaction machines (). The automated transaction machines operate to carry out financial transactions with associated host computers (). Marketing presentations are stored on and output from the transaction machines responsive to messages exchanged with a market message server () which is connected to the automated transaction machines through a network (). The connection to the automated transaction machines, which provides delivery of the market presentation materials and which causes the output of presentations, is generally independent of the messages associated with authorizing financial transactions. Some described embodiments of the invention enable presenting marketing campaigns to users of the transaction machines. The marketing campaigns may include sequences of presentations that are output on a targeted basis to particular users.

ATM customer marketing system

A system operates to receive status messages from banking machines () operating in a network (). The messages are received by an event management system () operating at least one computer (). The computer is in operative connection with a data store (). The data store includes information representative of the banking machines in the network, status messages generated by the banking machines and actions to be taken including entities to be notified of conditions which cause status messages to be sent by the various banking machines. The event management system receives the messages and places them in a uniform standard message format for further processing by the system. A device status processing program () in the computer resolves an action to be taken responsive to the status message. Responsive to the action resolved by the device status processing program the computer causes a notification message to be dispatched by a multimedia reporter to an entity who is to be notified of the condition at the banking machine which caused the status message. The computer also causes a trouble record to be created in the data store responsive to the status message from the banking machine. The multimedia reporter receives input messages from the entity and the computer causes information to be included in the trouble record responsive to the input messages. The system further provides report data to a user which enables the user to analyze the operation of the banking machines and service providing entities. The system further includes test capabilities for testing proper operation of the system.
