A converter that makes it possible to selectively switch between various converter architectures that are capable of supplying different output voltages on the basis of one and the same input voltage. The various architectures share at least some electronic components with one another, thereby decreasing the production cost of the converter according to the invention. The converter is particularly advantageous for lighting modules for motor vehicles, in which there are substantial space constraints but in which wide output-voltage ranges are required to be able to supply a varied and substantial number of electroluminescent light sources (LEDs) with power.

Converter with selectable output-voltage ranges

A device for supplying electric power to an electronic component, including a DC-to-DC converter able to operate using pulse width modulation with high states and low states, with an input and an output, the output being intended to supply power to the electrical component; and a protective circuit connected to the input of the DC-to-DC converter, with a storage capacitive component connected to a diode for protecting against polarity reversals. The protective circuit furthermore includes a bypass for bypassing the protective diode so as to allow the storage capacitive component to discharge during the low states of the pulse width modulation.

Pulse width modulation-stabilized electric power supply

The invention provides a device for driving the electrical power supply of at least one electronic circuit branch comprising at least one light source of an automotive vehicle. A converter circuit converts an input voltage Vinto a load voltage (or current) that is applied to said circuit branch, and control means are configured to control the converter circuit by means of a periodic PWM signal having a predetermined frequency f. The frequency f is adapted in real time and according to a disruption that is detected in the input voltage signal Vin order to avoid any occurrence of flickering in the intensity of the luminous flux emitted by the light sources.

Device for driving the electrical power supply of light sources of an automotive vehicle

A device that provides a circuit for controlling the power supply of a plurality of groups of light sources, preferably of the light-emitting diodes type, which perform a plurality of lighting functions for an automobile vehicle. The device is noteworthy in that it enables a primary output voltage and several high-voltage secondary outputs to be produced, corresponding to the power supply requirements of the various groups of light sources, with the use of a single switch-mode converter circuit.
