Disclosed techniques include skin diagnostics using optical signatures. A plurality of optical excitation light wavelength bands is scanned on a material sample, wherein the material sample exhibits optical spectral characteristics along the light wavelength spectrum. Excitation response wavelengths emitted by the material sample are captured in response to the plurality of optical excitation light wavelength bands, wherein the capturing is accomplished using an imaging sensor. Output values of a plurality of pixels of an image from the imaging sensor are measured, wherein the image represents excitation response wavelengths captured by the imaging sensor, wherein the measuring detects optical spectral characteristics of the material sample, and wherein the optical spectral characteristics are in response to the plurality of optical excitation light wavelength bands. An output signature indicative of composition of the material sample is generated, wherein the output signature is based on interpreting the output values that were measured.

Skin diagnostics using optical signatures

Provided are methods for repairing a wound or inducing the proliferative phase of a wound comprising administering a composition comprising a protease mixture comprising collagenases and a neutral protease to the wound in an amount effective for repair of wound tissue or for inducing the proliferative phase in the wound.

Use ofprotease mixture in promoting wound healing

Provided herein are methods and compositions for the treatment of wounds in a mammalian subject. Particularly, novel bioactive polypeptides are provided that promote tissue repair and regeneration, including the activation of/stimulation of wound healing and wound closure, stimulate keratinocyte and endothelial cell motility and/or proliferation.

Collagenase-derived peptides promote tissue regeneration and wound healing

The present disclosure relates to protein and peptide chemistry. More particularly, it relates to compounds, compositions and uses thereof for promoting and inhibiting angiogenesis. The invention provides isolated nucleic acids molecules, designated HATF-1 and HRP-1 nucleic acid molecules, which are differentially expressed in hypertensive humans, rats, and mice. This invention relates to the use of a particular form of collagenase substantially free of other proteinases to increase the motility of karatinocytes.

Enhancing keratinocyte migration

A method of enhancing the migration and proliferation of keratinocytes in wound healing or in the growth of artificial skin grown in vitro. The wound is contacted with (a) an effective amount of purified Clostridiopeptidase A collagenase that is substantially free from other proteinases and (b) an amount of a growth factor that increases the effects of said collagenase. The artificial skin is grown upon biomatrices previously synthesized by living cells and digested with Clostridiopeptidase A collagenase while in the presence of (a) an effective concentration of purified Clostridiopeptidase A collagenase substantially free from other proteinases and (b) a growth factor in a concentration effective to increase the effectiveness of said collagenase.
