A system and method for generating high-resolution imagery using electromagnetic signals includes a moveable vehicle and a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar system carried by the vehicle. The MIMO radar system includes an antenna array having a plurality of antenna elements. One or more of the antenna elements transmits electromagnetic signals towards a target area and one or more of the antenna elements receives back-scattered electromagnetic signals reflected from the target area. The system generates high-resolution three-dimensional imagery based on back-scattered electromagnetic signal data with system performance characterized by: (a) down range resolution &#x394;R; (b) cross-range resolution &#x394;X; and (c) vertical resolution &#x394;H. The system exploits effective synthetic apertures to improve cross-range resolution &#x394;X and vertical resolution &#x394;H based on, at least in part, the movement of the vehicle along the trajectory and a width and height of the antenna array relative to the target area.

System and method for generating high-resolution imagery using electromagnetic signals

This invention pertains to an improved adjustable kettlebell that has a stack of standard weight plates, a rounded grip section, a support bar serving to hold the weight stack, and flexible attachment members with cutouts for the support bar. The flexible attachment members provide a mechanically compliant clamping arrangement to accommodate weight stack of varying widths, and the cutouts allowing adjustment to the relative distance between the grip axis and the support bar axis. The improved adjustable kettlebell of the current invention serves as a close physical approximation to a solid cast kettlebell with a wide combination of standard weight plates.

A system and a method of measuring, decomposing, processing and uniquely recombining forces and vibrations acting on stringed musical instruments (SMI). The system utilizes a digital signal processor and reproduces the musical sound characteristics of an acoustic instrument into high fidelity electrical signals for amplification, processing and/or filtering and reproduction of musical sounds by uniquely exploiting, through measurements and subsequent signal processing, the vector nature of string excitation forces (SEF) and body vibrations of stringed musical instruments. A signal processing system of the current invention also utilizes a plurality of sensors, each responsive to at least one of force, displacement, velocity or acceleration indicative of the vibrational energy of the strings, to produce a sensor signal vector, which is then processed and transformed by a plurality of re-creation filters into a transformed signal vector, and then resynthesized into an output signal. The resynthesized output signal be a microphone output signal, may have acoustic characteristics of another SMI or possess acoustic characteristics of a &ldquo;theoretical&rdquo; SMI.

Measurement and processing of stringed acoustic instrument signals

A system for radiation imaging of objects within a target area utilizing echo signals from a target area such as a patch of seafloor or the anatomy of a body. Data is obtained by time domain measurements received at a plurality of transducers in either monostatic or bistatic mode. Using multidimensional interferometry and multidimensional Fourier transforms, the data is reconstructed in multiple temporal and spatial frequency domains with a unique reduced wavenumber characteristic that retains the resolution potential of a traditional synthetic aperture approach. The system is inherently robust in applications with significant transceiver motion and/or variations in the propagation characteristics of the surrounding medium.

A musical device comprises a guitar with a neck and a plurality of strings. A pick-up produces electrical output signals related to the frequency and amplitude of vibration of at least one of the strings. An electronic musical effect generator is receptive of the electronic output signal for altering the frequency and amplitude to produce a musical effect. A strain gauge assembly for plurality of axes is disposed on the guitar neck to sense a plurality of axes of strain in that position during use of the instrument. A pick is actuatable by a user for initiating a note on the guitar. A second sensor senses the manual actuation pressure on the pick and another strain gauge assembly for a plurality of axes is disposed on the pick and generates a plurality of control signals corresponding to structural deflections generated during the use of the pick. A controller is responsive to outputs of the sensors for effecting an alteration in the electronic musical effect generator in response to actuation pressure and strain.
